She broke for 3-2, then held in an epic game that went over deuce several times, then quickly got to 0-40 with 3 BP for *5-2 and even more quickly lost those. *4-3.
I think, Annika could have done better, but after reading the comments in this forum decided to improve her tiebreak record and her record in tight matches ("choking").
Probably a bit late now, but doesn't Ozaki play the exact same game Annika does.
I think Annika just needs to get some wins, I feel like her form has dropped from a few months ago (feel because most of her recent matches haven't been televised). Dushevina is a winnable match.
On the other hand, this is a typical match to show off her main problem: She has to work way too hard for each win with her game, that will always limit her potential because she has to put in so much effort even in early rounds, that will always put her in a disadvantage compared to players with bigger weapons.

Also Annika lacks self-confidence right now, that`s obvious with her many losses and rare wins. It`s tough for her. She should play the lower tournaments next season (when possible) in order to gain wins and confidence. It would me smart to play Tashkent and other MMs. And Annika has to improve her game, work hard on her serve and play aggressive.
That is bound to happen if each of her matches is a big grind. It's like I said yesterday, each win is such a struggle for her these days, she's bound to run into opponents that are better rested.
