Re: Annika Beck

Did they change the draw?

Anyway, she should beat Putintseva too. A loss against her on hardcourt would be not very promising.

Re: Annika Beck

Re: Annika Beck

Beck's results are getting worse and worse. Can't see her being in the top 100 in the next spring.

Re: Annika Beck

Beck has nearly 250 points to defend until the end of this season. She should really play some of the bigger ITF tournaments indoors, like Joue-les-Tours, Poitiers or Nantes.

If her results are not getting better that's the case. But sometimes you never know...

Her results are bad since Miami now.

That doesn't mean she has to continue necessarily like that. If every trend would gave continued Kerber wouldn't be top 10, Petkovic wouldn't be back in the top 20 and there are many more exampless for that.

Btw. the results of Putintseva are getting better right now. Which doesn't mean Annika should lose that. Putintseva has usually nothing in hr game to hurt Annika. But if she doesn't play as consistant as usual she can be a problem. Because the russian plays consistant as well.

Her strongest weapon is her behaviour on court...

Re: Annika Beck

Putintseva was one of the easier opponents in the Montreal QD and Cincinnati QD could be much tougher. Beck isn't showing any progress in the last 2 years now. She has some good results in Doha, Dubai and Indian Wells, but that's it for this season.

Re: Annika Beck

Many young players have such a year of dropping, after they arrived on the tour.
Nothing too concerning, yet.

She'll find her balance again.

Beck is slumping right now and she should not lose a match against Putintseva on hardcourt, but this is complaining on a high level. Look at players like Witthöfft for example, if Beck is not showing any progress what is Witthöfft doing? And they are nearly the same age..

Especially because of her ugly behaviour Putintseva can be tough for young players. Her way to act on court can make you lose all of your concentration. It takes a bit of experience to deal with it and I'm not sure Annika has it already. And especially if your self confidence is not the best because of poor results in the last weeks or month it's tough to stay calm.
