Looks like Pierce and her fan called it a day after the first set

Sania was playing incredibly. She and Mary went up 4-0 in thefirst set before Pierce was broken. They won the set 6-3.

Put two "second set lapse" specialists together and you get a 1-6 score in the second!

Then they regrouped and went up 4-0 in the 3rd. After that, Pierce was broken again. However unlike the first set, they could not regroup.

But I'm so impressed with Sania, and it looked like Pierce was too.

When players lose to the top seeds, it doesn't necessarily mean they called it a day

Yeah Sania played some great shots. The atmosphere was great in that match. One guy wrote on a paper calling Mary , Mary
Will you Marry Me and four people sitting beside him wrote on their papers saying OR ME. The whole stadium and the players started laughing.
