Singles 2R Defeated Silvia Farina Elia(ITA) 6-7(4) 7-5 6-1
Q: This was your first time beating your opponent today, and what was different from the last time you played with her?
A: I think I remember my first time is French Open last year and I think SilviaÕs playing very well that match, and you know she can play very well, you know, changing the game on clay court. So today I just went out there and did my best and I started pretty well and she came back very strong. I just kept fighting and tried as hard as I could. ItÕs kind of, in the third I was playing very well and happy the way I played today.
Q: Of the four big titles, Grand Slam, you always seemed to do quite well at Wimbledon, do you like this fast court?
A: I think itÕs one of the surfaces that I like and feel comfortable here. ItÕs kind of the same court as I practice at home, so I think IÕm get used to the speed of this court.
Q: First question, you are also best eight like last year, do you think that playing in Asia gives you more momentum, itÕs easier for you here? And other question, Pardon Schrichapan is also doing very well. How about tennis now in your home country?
A: In Japan, and especially this tournament, you know, I feel very comfortable to be back here. And specially the surface, it suits on my game. My next match, IÕm not sure who is going to be, so I hope IÕm playing well and try hard and am tough on that match. For the tennis in Thailand right now, itÕs been very very good right now because after SchrichapanÕs doing very well and tennis is one of the most famous right now and hopefully our tennis keeps developments and provides good tennis players in the future.
Q: Your national tennis program?
Q: We mentioned surface a little faster, what do you think your play style suits this fast surface?
A: I think probably my strokes, you know, my stroke is very flat and probably I get used to this speed too. So that was help and my game, you know my style is attacking. I think it suits me here.
Q: You were in 27 tournaments last year, how many tournaments do you plan to play this year? Would you like to have a shorter season?
A: I have been scheduled my tournaments probably around 25 to 28. If the result is not good, probably you know my body needs some rest. So depends on my condition, I may play less tournaments and rest for a while.
