Arrow Angie's Postmatch Interview

January 29, Wednesday@Angelique Widjaja (INE)
Singles 1R Defeated Mi-Ra Jeon 6-3 6-3

Q: This is your first time in this tournament and your first victory, can we have your opinion, your feelings right now? How do you feel after winning your first match?
A: Of course I am happy. Because this is the big tournament and this is my first time in this tournament, so itÕs good for me.

Q: You took a lead in the second set but then you seemed to be having some difficulties, were you taking time to get use to the surface?
A: This is my first time to play on this surface and this is my first match in this court. But I practiced maybe 4 days here so itÕs ok for me.

Q: Since your debut, since you started playing in the Tour, you have had won a title every year, what would be your hopes, your goals for this year.
A: I hope I can win the tournament again in this year. But my goal for this year is top 50 in WTA.

Q: This tournament is of course AsiaÕs biggest tournament, but itÕs also very early in the season, what does this tournament mean to you?
A: ItÕs like, this is the big tournament. Before I had to play qualifying, but I got wild card here, I would like to say thank you for the wild card from this tournament. This tournament is very good for me and for the entire player because this is the big tournament and we can get lot of points here also.

Q: You will probably be playing Dokic next, do you have any plans on how you will approach the game against her?
A: I never played against her before. I know she is a good player. This is good for me also because IÕll have opportunity to play against top player. So IÕll try my best tomorrow. Because I donÕt have pressure also for me, so IÕll try my best.
----------------------------

Good luck Angie against Dokic tomorrow.

Arrow Hello Lokamaya, Dou itashimashite.

I'm wondering that you thought I'm Japanese. But I'm Thai.

You should say " Khob Khun Krub = Thank you "

I saw you posted many Japanese words. Are you Japanese ? Are you studying Japanese ?

Arrow Sawasdee krub Lokamaya,

It's great that you like Thai food. I'm living in Bangkok and working for Japanese firm in Thailand. Of course I'm speaking Japanese.

What does it mean ? Does it mean good luck in Indonesia ?
What business does your firm have? So, u travel a lot to Nihon then...Terima Kasih means thank you...terima literally means to receive...and kasih means affection...Good luck...we say...Sukses...it is from the word Success in English...Sampai Jumpa (means See you again)!!!

BTW, we have a song called "Pantai Pattaya"...pantai means beach...It was very popular back in the 60s and it was perfromed by the 1st female group band in Indonesia!!!

Lokamaya,
Terima kasih you taught me a lot of Indonesia words. I will be remembering these words and talk to Angie and Wynne in Pattaya end of this year.

I should be able to be home when angie plays tomorrow so can get you guys constantly updated on the scores!!!
I really think angie has a good shot for this one as this is gonna be Jelena s very first match of the season. so hopefully she gets her business done before the tiger wakes up.

Hello gogomaggie,
Could you please don't forget to post the updated score (point by point) of Tammy vs Farina match ? I'm pretty sure they will be showing this match on TV.

Thank you in advance.
