Women's Tennis Trophy-Belgium

Will be played 14th and 15th December featuring Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, Elena Dementieva, Justine Henin and (according to the website, but it will depend on how her knee is progressing I guess), Amélie Mauresmo.

You have to take the eurostar to Brussels and then take another train to Ciney. It will take about 1h30min from Brussels to Ciney. I do not know exactly whether it is close to the station or not!

I hate to be so "American" (read: "Europeanly challenged") but what is the Eurostar? (I'm assuming a train--??) An about how much would the fare be from London to Brussels? (I'm coming. really I am!!)

lol! The Eurostar is the highspeed train that goes from London to Paris or Brussels. I don't know what the fare is to Brussels, but it's around Ł80 return from London, Waterloo to Paris, (though maybe more 'cos I think that might be a student fare).

Well prices vary depending on what day and time you leave and when you return.

You can consult this page for more information : http://www.eurostar.com/dctm/jsp/index.jsp

A one way ticket from Brussels to Ciney is about €9 and the good thing is that you have a direct connection from Brussels-South (Midi), where the Eurostar from London arrives, and Ciney.

;-) Well, not realy,it's just that a. London, Waterloo is "my" London station, (ie. the London station that my town is on a direct line to), so I see the Eurostar terminal *all* the time and b. I use the trains every year when I go to Roland Garros!

BTW, your cheapest option of getting from London to Belgium will most probably be the coach. Eurolines coaches depart regularly from London, Victoria to various European destinations, (I have the tel. no. if you want to know more). I don't know if you could get a coach directly to Ciney, but you could almost certainly get one to Brussels for less money than the train.

The train is the faster and more comfortable option, but on the other hand the coach, as well as being the cheapest option, would probably aso give you the option of overnight travel saving hotel costs.

I think after 3 years of going to European tournies, I'm fast becoming the expert in cheap European travel!! ;-) lol!
