I know! The Live Scoring charts are definitely confusing. But I finally figured it out! Here's the scoop:
The first column on the left, Pts
, concerns the POINTS happening in the current set. The first side to win 4 points wins the game. Then there is a tiebreak point I guess, because some games end 5-4.
You need five games to win a set. The current score in GAMES is also changing as the set goes on; you will see that change in its appropriate column.
Scores in the other columns reflect the sets already played:
= men's singles
= women's singles
= men's doubles
= women's doubles
Finally, the blue column on the far right, Tot
, shows the cumulative total for all the sets played so far. So to check which team is winning, or which team won, that's the only column you need to look at.
For details of the points scored by the individual players in each set, you can click on Match Stats
on the bottom right. Above the Team stats chart on the Match Stats page, you can click on links to look into the WS, MS, etc sets.
Hope that helps!
Edited to correct scoring mistake! 4 points, not 5, wins a game.
