Re: [GMT] Australian Open 2010: First Round Tasks out now!

Round One Preview:

The first round of the first tournament of the GMT season commences, with 15 players fighting it out for the Australian Open title. While defending champion Poiree gets a bye to the second round, there are other established and up-and-coming players due to play in the first round.

2009 AO finalist heart will begin her title quest against MichaelCourt., a newcomer from Canada. While MichaelCourt. has been improving in his graphics, heart is still rusty, with her last match held in October, in which she lost. But don't count heart out; she's been known to create unusual and original graphics that can amaze the voters.

Ksenia., a semifinalist here last year, will be facing Pieter., a first-time participant in the GMT. Pieter. has much to learn in graphics making, and while he is also improving, he still needs experience in the tour in order to win over voters. Ksenia., who has not been able to follow up her Wimbledon win, should use her experience to win easily.

In a battle of young, up-and-coming players, oneandonly and Acinolbaj will face off in a mouth watering match-up. oneandonly, coming off from a final in Bali last year, should be able to capitalize on her experience and originality, but Acinolbaj, with her fresh and creative graphics, might pull off an upset.

Andreas, who seems to be getting back to his groove, will face another newcomer in the GMT, Marco tennis. Andreas hasn't been on the tour very much last season, but he backed it up with solid wins in doubles, with three titles with his partner. Marco, on the other hand, still needs improvement in his graphics.

Australian louisa., Back to Basics champion this year, is up against veteran kai. Even though louisa. did not play very much in the last seasons, she will be a contender this season with her awesome coloring skills. kai., who has obviously more experience than louisa., might have a hard time against the Aussie.

InsideOut. and zvonarevarulz will also battle in a rematch of their Bali semifinals last year. zvonarevarulz won this match by default because of InsideOut.'s withdrawal, and went on to win Bali. zvonarevarulz must watch out though, as InsideOut. might be out for revenge.

Lastly, in a battle of two contrasting Aussies, Caraleede will challenge Droolv. for a spot in the quarterfinals. We haven't seen much of Caraleede, while Droolv. is a veteran player in the GMT. Like Pieter and Ksenia's match-up, this match will go to Droolv.'s way, but don't be surprised if Caraleede creates an upset.
