Kristin Godridge playing for Hong Kong?? Can anyone confirm???

Is the K Godridge playing for Hong Kong, the former Australian top 100 player Kristin Godridge who retired quite young fue to injuries???

Kristin was never a spectacular player although I do recall her taking a set of Habsudova at the French Open, the same year Karina reached the Quarter Finals there losing an epic to Sanchez I think!

I don't think it is...but what a coincidence. I mean how many Kristin Godridges are there in the world? And how many play pro level tennis? lol

But anyway, I checked the ITF database and looks like we have two seperate identities.

We have Krist-i-n Godridge from Australia, born 1973.

...and Krist-e-n Godridge from Hong Kong, but no birth date given.

Weird. But I dont think it's 'our' Kristin. lol, looks like solving this mystery has come down to a couple of vowels.

Thought it was her, seemed too co-incidental!

Maybe she married a Honky Boy!

I`m not sure but I think I read both forms of the name, Kristin/Kristen, with the surname Godridge in magazines etc. And she was always Australian. Perhaps it was a just a typing error.

Would say that this story from a NZ paper confirms it is the formerly-Australian player Kristen/Kristin Godridge. That is unless we're all neglecting to remember a HK player ranked, fairly recently, in the top 100...

Thanks

Well, my guess would also be that she married a guy from Hong Kong, has been living there for a while, perhaps coaching? And decided to play for them too! She took Leanne Baker to 3 sets! I'm sure back in her day she would've beaten Baker fairly easily...

During her last year or so on the tour Kristen decided to base herself in Hong Kong so I'm pretty sure it's her.

There's more to life than just being happy.

Im going to get some lessons from Kristin. She is alive and kicking in Hong Kong. Anyone remember her work in Brisbane years back when she lost to Shultz in the semis I think.
