Qualifying Zones Venues/Dates Decided

Do not know what the surface is however.

Europe / Africa Group I: Club Ali Bey Managvat, Anatlya, Turkey, w/c 21 April 2003 (Fed Cup Week 1); 17 teams. Thank god! Its's not La Manga again Hopefully it'll be Hardcourt and teh Brits stand a chance

Europe / Africa Group II: Club Ali Bey Managvat, Anatlya, Turkey, w/c 28 April 2003; 19 teams.

Americas Group I: Sociedade Hipica de Campinas, Brazil, w/c 21 April 2003 (Fed Cup Week 1); 8 teams.

Americas Group II: Puerto Rico Tennis Association (exact venue tbc), w/c 21 April 2003 (Fed Cup Week 1); 15 teams.

Asia / Oceania Groups I and II: Ariake Tennis Stadium, Tokyo, w/c 21 April 2003 (Fed Cup Week 1); 11 teams in Group I, 8 teams in Group II.

A total of 94 nations have entered the Fed Cup for 2003, with four nations (Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Vietnam and Angola) participating in Fed Cup for the first time.

Draws for the pools within the Regional Qualifying Groups will not take place until shortly before the events themselves.

glad to know that Asia / Oceania Groups I and II will be held the same time as other groupes on April unlike this year in March

Next year Janet can gain some doubles points in Indian Wells .

Also it will be in Japan which there will be 2 $50K events after this

Asian Fed Cup clashes with the $25K Korean Challenger, which is not good for the players. I'm sure the challenger'll be moved to another week, and hopefully too.

Good to see Vietnam participating for the 1st time.

Vietnam will not go to Japan . Not good for a first participation .

I don't like besides that the Fed Cup takes place right after the $25K in Hochiminh City. Several players will be busy training with their team .
