Re: Simona Halep Cheering thread - volume 3

Darren Cahill's tweet is so true. She just seems to ooze coolness, composure and quiet confidence from every pore. Since the AO QF shocker, absolutely nothing seems to faze her these days.

Re: Simona Halep Cheering thread - volume 3

This match was way easier than I thought it would be. 1-4 down and Simo reels off 11 straight games, against a Wimbledon grasscourt specialist. Unreal. But that's Simona for you. She's low-key and operates with brutal efficiency. It was a worry about having her play 3 consecutive days. But considering she's only been on court for 57 minutes in her matches yesterday and today, she might actually need more practice than rest.

I like both. Darren is a very good coach when it comes to motivation. And Kim is ... Kim. The one and only. Actually, she is one of the reasons I started to watch Simona back in 2010/2011. I found Simona having a similar style and her groundstrokes were similar.

No matter the score she looks so calm, she's like a machine, just keeps on going until she breaks you down.

Aga [18] - Gasparyan [1] - Kvitova [17]

Very well done, Simona!

I think her chances to take the title now are at least as good as they were in Paris. But the SF against Bouchard will be tough, that's for sure.

Barthel ~ Martic ~ Muguruza ~ Garcia ~ Konjuh ~ Kasatkina
Sevastova Hampton Kerber Pervushina Potapova Rybakina Mladenovic Gasparyan

Hi

Started monitoring Simona's progress since about Rome 2013 and have been a lurker since Can't believe she's risen so fast, and if she beats Bouchard tomorrow (which I hope she will) she'll be #2 in the world... wow! She just goes about her business without a whole lot of fanfare and I think that's just the way she likes it.
