Halep's Schedule

The Paris and Dubai fiasco:

Halep is joining the big league. Her management has to improve too.
They could have asked Dubai to schedule her the latest possible for her 1st round. Sorry if they did and were turned down. And if that is what happened, she should have simply withdrawn. That would have given someone the Lucky Loser spot...

The girl hurt her ankle in Doha but managed to fight on. They should make an effort to protect her. Even if she had to get a zero pointer for getting out of Dubai, so what?

Halep's management made the same mistake pushing her into Paris where she was the only Aussie Open Quarter finalist, tired after that huge time zone change. Every other AO quarter finalist took a break.

Hopefully she'll fly now to California, take care of her ankle and rest for Indian Wells where she should do very well, given how she just dismantled a slew of top-10.

Serena is untouchable.!!! Halep is getting there.

Re: Halep's Schedule

I don't know if she really has a management, from what I see, she plays as much as she can, which is not good anymore!

A few people can win somebody's heart in a lifetime. But, she has already occupied a spot in mine

So cute off-court , so deadly on-court ! Simona Halep

Yup.

Also , Maybe 5-6 hours could have counted , maybe not. Personally, it think it would have but we're not Simona. She couldn't have played on Wednesday because there's a Saturday final (don't know why) .

That was unlikely to happen.

Anyway, the harm is done so we know can only hope for a fast recovery till IW .

Yeah, Virginia Ruzici should be guiding her a bit better. Hopefully, in a couple of months time once Simona & Wim Fissette have got to know each other better, it will be easier for him to guide and advise her regarding her schedule.

Re: Halep's Schedule

I think it has to do with Brussels, but hopefully now that she has solidified her top 10 spot, things should change.

If you guys remember. She reached the Rome SF as a qualifier and then withdrew from Brussels (where she had a final to defend) to save energy for RG and she lost the first round. Ever since then I think she's been afraid to withdraw from tournaments and it hurt her at Wimbledon and at the US Open. In both of those slams she played full two weeks before them and was tired

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.
Grammatikopoulou ~ Papamichail ~ Sakkari
I'm obsessed with the Greek players. Deal with it.

Re: Halep's Schedule

How are we doing lately on this front? Any progress? Better schedule management?
What are you suggesting for 2015?

Serena is untouchable.!!! Halep is getting there.

Re: Halep's Schedule

I think Simona needs a good schedule for 2015. The WTA changed some things in the tour. The tour starts one week later (Jan 5th), grass season has one more week now (3 weeks before Wimbledon). Dubai switched places and level with Doha. The rankings will be a mess next year. Simona also wants to play Fed Cup as far as I know, since she wants to participate in 2016 Rio (2 year Fed Cup participation needed) and it will become hard to find some tournaments before and after Fed Cup.
I think she needs to play all the P5 this year. She needs to play bigger tournaments, maybe no more INT. She MUST skip Bucharest next year and play Stanford, Toronto and Cincinnati before US Open.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_WTA_Tour

How about:

Brisbane
Sydney (just in case she exits early in Brisbane)
Aus Open
Aus Open
5 days off (or more) after AO, then Fed Cup against Spain
week off (Antwerp/Pattaya)
Dubai
Doha
week off (Monterrey/Kuala Lumpur)
IW
IW
Miami
Miami
week off (Charlseton/Katowice)
5 days off, then Fed Cup (if Romania defeats Spain)
Stuttgart
week off (Marrakesh,Oeiras)
Madrid
Rome
week off (TBD/Strasbourg)
RG
RG
week off (Nottingham/TopShelf)
Birmingham
Eastbourne (just in case she exits early in Birmingham)
Wimbledon
Wimbledon
week off (Bucharest/Bastad)
week off (Istanbul/Bad Gastein)
week off (Baku/Florianopolis)
Stanford
Toronto
Cincinnati
week off (New Haven)
USO
USO
week off (Quebec City/Osaka)
Tokyo or week off (wether she needs points for YEC)
Wuhan
Beijing
week off or Linz/Hong Kong/Tianjin (wether she needs points for YEC)
Moscow or week off (wether she needs points for YEC)
YEC

Total: 20 without Tokyo, Moscow, Linz/Hong Hong/Tianjin and YEC. I don't think she needs INTs if she plays ok in these ones.
