Re: Simona Halep Cheering thread - volume 2

We know that her message are for ppl back home in Romania too. At first , last year she had a lot of support from romanians all over the world , Sofia, Moscow, even in 2014 in Doha was a lot of romanians there and she only write in romanian for what i remember, but she enters new ground now , a lot of attention , and probably lots of messages on her blog from all over the world. Now she realise that ppl recognize her everywhere ( prob where she shops too , etc )

She is what she must be . A real "world" top 5. Not just a romanian tennis player.

She belongs to the world now, to her fans from everywhere.

I couldn't be more happy for her.

^ He he, I know!

So, have people here sent in questions that Simona hasn't answered yet? I see there is no link on her latest blog post for sending questions, so maybe she has a few stored up to answer in her next post(s) ...

^ Wouldn't it be fantastic if we could have three more signatures from Simona in Madrid:

I'm Very Happy! -> I'm Very, Very, Very Happy! -> I'm Ecstatic, Thrilled, Over The Moon! Words Can't Say How Happy I Am!

That is funny )

well i gues that first is accurate.

The second one is for me almost like Neil Armstrong`s : That`s one small step for WTA, one giant leap for Simona

Re: Simona Halep Cheering thread - volume 2

Simona seemed very happy after the match and in interview ,

I think she needed this kind of marathon win and making such comeback against a player giving her best ,,

I think this win will be very positive for her confidence and mentally side more than being physically negative

This I think is the crucial thing about today's win. The confidence of coming through a three setter against a player playing well. That ought to carry the day tomorrow, as well, I hope.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this Simona's first win this year after dropping the opening set? Every time she's lost the first set, she's gone down in straights. So this win had to be a huge confidence boost for her. And this was against a big-hitting Lisicki who was playing at her best and serving big. Coming through against this type of player should help prepare her for Ana tomorrow.

I will say, however, the scheduling gremlins screwed up again with having Simo be the first one on court against Ana on ASV court at 3pm after playing a 2+ hour night match. Caroline Garcia and Aggie Radwanska are second up, despite both having played daytime matches on Thursday. And their are only 3 matches scheduled on ASV court anyway. But I guess 15 hours is better than the 90 minutes she got in Fed Cup and one of Simo's strength is her fitness.

Oh, yes, how could I forget. Her second win this season after dropping the opening set, and her first in four months after dropping the opening set.
