Hello everyone and welcome to my first WTA Blog

I arrived in Madrid on Thursday morning. After Stuttgart I went back home to Bucharest for a few days, because I felt a little bit of pain with my injury - I injured my right ankle before Fed Cup - and I wanted to have it checked. But now I'm here, I'm feeling good, and I'm ready to start this tournament!

Speaking of Fed Cup, it was amazing because we won, but for me it wasn't great because of the injury. I couldn't prepare very well for it. The rain also made it very difficult - I had to play two matches on the Sunday, and against Ivanovic I was tired, but Sorana played very well there and beat them

Many people came out to support us in Bucharest, even though it was Easter. It was amazing. And it was an amazing atmosphere. When they were singing our national anthem it was very impressive.

Let me tell a little bit about what I've done today, my first full day here in Madrid. I did some running for about 20 or 30 minutes after I woke up, then I went for breakfast, then I had a practice session for about an hour and a half with Pavlyuchenkova - we played points. Then I had lunch and came here for the WTA's All Access Hour! I also helped at the draw. Before I went to the draw I said it would be good to play a qualifier first round, so I would get a Sunday start, and it happened, so I'm happy!

This tournament means a lot to me. Mr. Tiriac gave me a wildcard here every time I needed it, and last year I started to play really well here, seeing that I can play a higher level. My goal here this year is to win a few matches and enjoy this one, because I feel good here, and the courts are very nice.

I'll be practicing on the stadium court here today too. I think I have a chance to play there this year, and I'd like to prepare for that as much as I can. I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays.

Thank you all for reading my blog! Don't forget to send me your questions...

Have a good night

Simona

I dunno for u guys , but for me , this is incredible , for us ( all of her fans ) a sign.

It`s so amazing that Simona started to open her profesional life with her fans that i don`t have any words left.

I`m speachless.

We all wants what is good for her, and maybe , just maybe , she will recognise how much support and love from her fans she has ( forums , social media, etc )

I really smell a SF here.

Really , i got this feeling )

Great to see this from Simona. Hopefully, her last blog from Madrid will start, "I did not think I could win this tournament when it started, so it is incredible for me to beat Sharapova and win the title."

Let's start spamming her with messages asking her to create a twitter account until she caves. She will, eventually, that's almost certain.

And is she playing the qualifier tomorrow or Monday?

Re: Simona Halep Cheering thread - volume 2

Hopefully this Mr Tiriac would be so kind and give us a match vs Marino

Or at least not Garcia or Bencic ( She seems good on this clay )

Re: Simona Halep Cheering thread - volume 2

I wouldn't mind if she got drawn the best of the qualifiers. She needs to be good regardless which stage of the tournament she's at. How can we expect her to beat one of the more heavy names if she can not beat qualifiers, albeit young and talented ones.

No sh!t Sherlock. :\ Try not to.

@others : Simona made the draw manually ,by herself and with the help of Torro-Flor and people from the crowd as seen in the video. It's not something to joke about. Maybe some , who see these posts are not that smart and really believe that and may turn out badly.

We talk about the current Simona who struggles against injuries and lack of matches .. And we all know how slowly she enters most tournaments even when being in form
I wouldn't have been looked at the qualification section if Simona close to her form
She needs a boost of confidence .. She need wins regardless of the opponents
