Re: Simona Halep (România)

34 winners, 27 unforced errors, maybe she has found the middle between attack and defense, I don´t know.
Maybe She is still a pusher but I saw her finding the lines, angles, taking some risks not just running. I don´t know how but she even did some good voleys. Of course Radwanska did not her best tennis but the most important is that simona is getting a good couple of points.

OK, I am bouncing between the Romanian and English forums. The owner of the Romanian forum, Valentin Sorescu says that Mlendea is part time coach and that he and another former player, Moraru, are on a rotating coaching duty for Irina Begu as well.

Yeah, Morarus is with Begu. At least he was at the AO. Cruciat who is a former ATP player as well is with Cadantu.

Seems to become the new Romanian thing - coaching rotation.

It's a tiny forum where I like to go once in a while, perhaps because the owner is from the same region in Romania where I was born

Well, maybe it's a good thing. Many times good coaches arise from former players that were not so good when they played.

Re: Simona Halep (România)

Impressive, just impressive! Not only the victory or the game played by Simona, but the way she managed to pass over the difficult moments in that match. It's like I watched a different Halep that the one I had been used to. Let me pass across those key moments:
1. When she was serving for staying in the first set after she was *4-3 up I was sure that she will be broken. But she saved 1 SP for 5-5 and 2 SP for making 6-6.
2. After losing the TB I expected her to fold like a cheap tent as usually she did after she lost a first tight set - there were plenty of such matches in her career. But she trashed Aga like a top 5 clay player in the next set.
3. I was afraid she will crumble in the third set having played 3 matches in 3 days already and facing an angry top 4 player, but she continued to play at the highest level, passing easy over the middle games when Aga rose her level of play to the highest standard.

Maybe Aga didn't play what we all expected from a top 4 but she showed her class many times, turning so many points controlled by Simona in her favor, so that another reason to congratulate our player for her tenacity and consistency.

Re: Simona Halep (România)

I closed the stream after the tie-break (even though I was impressed she played pretty good in front of Aga) and came back in the third set. Great job Simona, plenty of winners and no mental or physical breakdown. Keep it that way!

I met Simona in Doha this year. I took a pic with her. She is really nice (and attractive).
I love her tennis too.
