Simona's best winning match points?

To me, a great winning match point/shot at the end of a great performance is like a big, emphatic exclamation mark on the match. :D

Interpret it how you like ... best? favourite? Nominate your best/favourites. All I ask is that you focus on the winning match point itself or even just the quality of the final shot, rather than the importance of the match. It doesn't necessarily have to end with a winner, though I expect most nominations will. It doesn't necessarily have to be a great match performance overall by Simona.

I'm not expecting you to go through old matches looking for the match points, but remember to contribute whenever you've re-watched an old match with a great winning match point by Simona. If you can find highlights on Youtube then embed them too to make it easy for others to re-watch the point.

There'll be no winner & no poll. Hopefully just a ton of great match points by Simona for us all to enjoy again. :D

I'll start with two that come immediately to mind:

2016 Indian Wells R3 vs Makarova 6-2 6-4 (40-15)
The reason why I started this thread.
Terrific rally but the seal on it was Simona's extraordinary cross-court BH winner. As soon as it left her racket she knew it was golden. She couldn't have hit it any sweeter if she tried. Her best match winning shot ever? Do you agree?

2015 Miami QF vs Stephens 6-1 6-5 (40-15)
A terrific last 2 shots by Simona. The first an angled FH forcing Sloane wide to offer up a shorter ball, and the winner a beautiful FH in centre-court that she had little margin for error with - up and over the net with huge spin to bring it down inside the court. An emphatic way to seal her superiority.

Hi!!!
How about MADRID QF 2016 Halep vs Begu 6-3,0-6,6-1.
The jumping backhand winner is always nice to see especially with Halep. !!! The reaction after finishing that match point is priceless, rarely do we see her express in a way her assertiveness to players. I don't even call it a celebration but more like "you tried, but not today". >:) :) Another good example is that match in Miami with her and Stephens 2015. The reaction after that has a similar feel to this.

Anyway, I know it's late but one of my wish for her came true and that is she wins Madrid,Rome and Paris. So Congrats Simona!!
Clearly, we can see if she is dialed in with her matches 99% she wins the match. I was hoping for a double but impossible for I still do not see her 100% healthy but she's getting there and the mentality ......... Embrace all the voices in your head and accept to be great. I wish I could tell her that. LOL.

Most importantly I hope she manages to be fit and healthy throughout this year . Healthy in MIND and BODY to win seven matches in a single tournament. :wink2:

Good Luck today Simo!! :)
