Someone has to talk to her seriously. She will lose fans if she goes on like this. Ok not me, but it's hard to bear such a behaviour.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

She should take some time off the tour. It's tough to follow a player when she is not able to compete (for whatever reason).

Tbh, I came from a party yesterday night.
You know what I mean.
Of course Mona`s performances are simply awful right now and there obviously is no silver line at the horizon right now.

I think that's the last thing she should be doing. She just needs to play her way back into form.

The good thing is that she has no points to defend in the next 2 months. But it's possible now that she won't be seeded in Paris.
With these sorts of performances she clearly doesn't deserve it and i think that this is her smallest problem at the moment.

Right now it seems that she`s playing herself deeper into the slump with every single match.
Her confidence and attitude are completely gone. A little break with some useful conversation looks more reasonable to me.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

another horror performance in 2nd set after she wasted tons of chances in 1st set, same all over again, also same as last year, starts with one disappointing defeat against Rybarikova and now this..not much to expect from her in Rome as well, needs some mental help obviously IMO

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

The first thing she has to do is getting a real coach.

I disagree.

How long is a break? I mean with all of these losses happening so quickly in every tournament she has a lot of breaks IDK I just don't ever think the answer is to 'take a break' unless she's consistently injuring herself - which she isn't.

Donīt need a break for that. Takes about 60 seconds to tell her what the problem is: She is not as good as she thinks she is. From there it is all a question of total professionalism. A sports psychologist to work on her attitude/mentality and a full-time coach to work on her game.

- Caroline Wozniacki has never beaten a reigning world #1.
- Caroline Wozniacki has never beaten a top 5 player at a major.
- Caroline Wozniacki has not beaten a top 3 player en route to any of her 24 titles.
- Caroline Wozniacki has beaten three top 5 players en route to her 24 titles (#4 Radwanska, #4 Zvonareva and #5 Schiavone)

This update was pigeonpowered by Aga Radwanska and fake MTO.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

It's no surprise that she has posted her best results in the first couple weeks of the year. She was mentally rested, ready to compete, wanting to show some fight. She has to maintain that attitude throughout the whole year.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

Wow, don't really know what to say about this...we didn't see it but how the match went sounds awfully familiar. She needs someone to wake her up. Now after Fed Cup this imho could be Rittner like someone (crazillo?) suggested. Her attitude is horrible, one "I don't care" match is bad, 3 is unacceptable.

Of course it`s an illusionary question for different reasons about the need of a break but I`d say she should probably skip the clay season.

Looking at her developement Mona has some deeper issues in point of attitude and definitely needs some different help or surroundings to get out of this, whether it`s a sport psychologist, or whatever.
First of all it`s up to her whether she can entirely see what she is doing right now on the court. That`s not just a question of intellectual abilities.
Her mum obviously is not able to handle this situation and I guess that this family constellation is one of the main problems.
