Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

To me, this isn't the ideal draw.

She has a bye, so she will automatically defend her points from next year. Kiki Bertens can be tricky. Mona is 3-1 against her, but Kiki won their last meeting, and she's also had a great year so far.

If she gets by Kiki, it will be much better road.

BARBIE
is coming for your towel, too.

No
The Bye dosent mean she has defended her Last Year points
If she lose 2nd round she will get 1 Point

Something was bound to go right sometime today, All these broken pieces fit together to make a perfect picture of us
It got cold and then dark so suddenly and rained, It rained so hard the two of us were the only thing
That we could see for miles and miles
And in the middle of the flood I felt my worth, When you held onto me like I was your little life raft
Please know that you were mine as well
Drops of water hit the ground like God's own tears
And spread out into shapes like Salad bowls and basins and buckets for bailing out the flood

Sorry, she would get 5 points for losing in 2nd round

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

Hopefully her knee is fine and she can quickly find her game after the little break.
Bertens and Ivanovic in the first round are anything else but easy.
When she can get past R 3 her possible opponents look beatable even until the Semifinals.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

I'm so afraid before match against Bertens. IMO she is the most dangerous from these players. Hopefully Mona keep form from Paris, then she has chances for SF even.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

I hope Annika will beat Bertens (imho she should be able to) and Mona will beat Annika. Ivanovic isn't that much of a threat I think, Mona struggles more against crafty players, Ivanovic will give her pace to work with. R4 and the QF are probably the easiest you could get. It will of course all depend on whether Mona can again show the composure she had so far this season, but if she does, this is great opportunity for her to score a lot of points.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

I just hope she does well. I would be okay with a R4. Of course if she's not in full form then it's a different story.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

I think any draw in which Mona doesn't have to play Azarenka, Sharapova or Kvitova before QF is a good one for her. When she is on she should have her chances against all the other players but one offday could lead to an early exit. So it's always the same old story with Mona. The most dangerous opponent en route to a potential SF is for me Ana Ivanovic in contrast to other opinions here. Their match in Stuttgart with both players in a good condition was very competitive and could have gone either way.

Even though i see Bertens as the favourite against Beck i somehow have the feeling that we will see a match between the new teammates Mona and Annika.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

Not a bad draw for Mona, almost everything is possible!
But weŽll see, you never know with Mona and Ivanovic,Stosur and Co. arenŽt easy opponents as well although they are surely beatable.
Hope that she wins her first match, Bertens or Beck should be beatable!!
