I've got my Eastbourne tickets already

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

Translation? Much appreciated - google translate is very unreliable.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

^^ Thanks for the link to the interview, tennisfreak13. Mona's statements with regard to the Fedcup and her coaching situation are quite interesting. I will google-translate it and put it into Mona's news thread. As i know that the google translation is still quite unreliable i will try to improve it, especially at the most important parts.

Guess a Premier title with two top ten wins hasn´t convinced Mona yet that the coach is any good for her. I´m starting to think that she turned down Nike not the other way around, because their corporate study on working conditions in Asia didn´t satisfy her.

- Caroline Wozniacki has never beaten a reigning world #1.
- Caroline Wozniacki has never beaten a top 5 player at a major.
- Caroline Wozniacki has not beaten a top 3 player en route to any of her 23 titles.
- Caroline Wozniacki has beaten two top 5 players en route to her 23 titles (#4 Zvonareva and #5 Schiavone)

-Her fans think she had very bad luck with her Grand Slam and Regular Tour draws.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

Waiting for a Barthel - Azarenka Re-Match in Indian Wells ! That would be a great opportunity for her to show how she improved the last 12 months.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

I would rather be interested to see how she would perform against Sharapova because she never played her before. Mona needs those matches against the ablsolute elite players, not only to improve her game but also her self-belief.

Re: Mona Barthel - Volume 2

Why not ? Azarenka in SF, then Sharapova in F. As both are seeded 1 and 2, there's no other possibility for Mona to play both than by reaching the IW final.

R2 Beck/Bertens
R3 Ivanovic
R4 Peng/Stosur
QF Kerber/Wickmayer/Makarova/Safarova

That's a really great draw for Mona!
