Re: Aiko Nakamura Thread.

Aiko hasn't played at all since US Open.

I wouldn't be surprised if she decides to announce her retirement at Osaka... Hope the tourney doesn't award her a MD WC though...

Re: Aiko Nakamura Thread.

As expected, Aiko has announced her retirement. Her farewell ceremony will be held on the 11th at the All-Japan Championships...

Very sad. She was relatively injury free until her freak knee injury at Vancouver in 2009... 2 knee surgeries and she was never the same again

It would have been nice if she played one last time at Osaka, her hometown.

Anyway, farewell to another great Japanese player...

Re: Aiko Nakamura Thread.

All the best to Aiko. She will certainly be missed and I have some great memories of watching her over the years. She did well following her surgery and time out to get herself up to where she did. I hope she has a great retirement.
