I think it's time to start a new thread for Su-wei in 2007. She got a new sponsor and fitness trainer before French Open to play more WTA events this year. We will see how she does this year.

Su-wei has a good start at French qualifying rounds. She won all 3 matches ( all 3 sets ) advanced to main draws. She will play Dulko in her first round match. Su-wei played Dulko once in Japan. She lost to Dulko in a very tight 3 set 7-5 in third. Maybe Su-wei is stronger this time and eager to win some matches here at French. I hope that Su-wei could play Sharapova in 3rd round. (Su-wei beat Sharapova before in junior). Good-luck, Su-wei !! All the best !! :)

Does anyone know if Su-wei is playing doubles at French??
Su-wei has signed a 2 years contract with Chia-en corp from Taiwan. Chia-en has agreed to pay for all the traveling expenses for the next 2 years. This will give Su-wei more opportunities to play more WTA tournaments in US and Europe, instead of playing all these Asian challengers. I am so happy for Su-wei. :)

I agree !! She said it before, it's all about her willingness. She can be in top 50 if she wants to. She really needs to improve her fitness and consistency for sure.

Su-wei is scheduled last one to play Dulko on court 17. I hope Su-wei can play her game and win.

Su-Wei works with Perry in doubles  ,facing Bremond and Cohen-Aloro first.Bremond could be a real threat at net despite her bad form.
I want to know if they managed to get a WC?With Perry's falling ranking they must have received one.Best of luck Su-Wei. :)

Does anyone knows who is Su-wei's double partner? Is Chin-wei playing doubles at Wimbledon? Who is her partner? sorry for so many questions. :)

#13 ·
Su-wei won both single and double matches today. One more win to advance to main draws. Su-wei, go go go

Chin-Wei lost in doubles qualification at Wimbledon :tears: She was teamed with Luzhanska (??)
I did not notice Su-Wei in the draw for doubles but she could be there with someone else! Well done for qualifying for Wimbledon MD!

Luzhanska is the wife of Chin-wei's current coach. It's understandable that she is teaming up with her instead of Su-wei. Congradulations to Su-wei who made it into maindraw today! She really needs to learn how to close out a match. From her scoreline with Johansson today, she totally lost her focus on the second set!!! But anyway, it's over and done with! Now please win several rounds and show the world your amazing talent.

su-wei is playing with top junior alla kudryavtseva in the doubles qualification as number one seeds
they won their first match against hlavackova and kloesel! :D

I think Su-wei has a good chance to win couple rounds here at Wimbledon. Golovin has not played a single match since April due to injury. Su-wei played well in qualifying matches. Good luck. :)

#22 ·
Yes. Good luck!!! I do think it's not such a great idea to hire her friend (Tong Ka-poo) as her coach. I don't know how good Tong is but I doubt that she had that many experiences as a coach. Tong sort of retired from the tour last year but her highest ranking was outside 200s?? Besides the question of Tong's ability, it's also problematic when Hsieh and Tong are very good friends. Very difficult to discipline your own friend and be hard on them. But we will see how su-wei fair in the future.

I agree with you. Su-wei said it before that she can be in top 100 if she wants to be. It's a matter of how hard she is willing to work. She has the talents but she is not willing to train hard like Yung-Jan physically. Su-wei needs a coach will discipline her.

wow Tong Ka-Po? former hong kong player? she was decent, showed promise when young but decided to get married instead of pursuing her personal tennis career. do they even speak the same dialect? lol

Su-wei will play Golovin first on court 14 tomorrow. I do hope that su-wei will play well and maybe an upset for the 17th seed. :)

Su-Wei. :bigcry:

Su-Wei was in terrific form, doing a lot of beautiful slices and dropshots. This match was unbelievably entertaining. She was leading *5-3 and was two points from winning at 5-4* 30:30 and then deuce. There was a key point when Tati tried to keep a point(which could lead to MP) in play returning Su-Wei's forehand dtl,and the ball fell right on the baseline. :tape:
Tati clearly couldn't feel the ball at the beginning of the match. But the second set she regrouped well with her big serves and strong groundies. In the decider she started to give away the points easily herself again. At the same time Su-Wei's backhand slice really upset her,Tati almost couldn't covert any point at net.Eventually she used Su-Wei's 3 UEs in the last return game, broke, and finished the match.

Poor Su-Wei,she had big chances to create the first good upset. She played very well until the last game.Really hope she can get in the top 100 soon.
