After becoming only the third to break the WTA top 100 in Taiwanese history (now ranked 73 in the world), Yung-Jan Chan, 17, aims high at the top 50 by the end of 2007. :yeah: Best of luck!
Finishing Asian Games impressively with 1 gold (team) and 1 silver (doubles), Yung-Jan would start the new year in Hobart, Australia, and then compete in AO where she was awarded her first direct entry of a grand slam in career.
I watched part of the match against Ivanovic & Hantuchova, they got a bit lucky that Dani made some mistakes when they were leading in the first set. My mom and me, "doubles specialists", were pointing out their mistakes  Of course we probably would do the same, but it was very educational to watch Chan & Chuang playing
46 64 32 (with a break) in mixed at the moment!
BTW, did you go to Wimbledon?
The draw looks sooo awesome o_o

Ok,you,a doubles specialist? Do you actually play good doubles or you guys just watch lots of doubles?
Maybe that's why I'm not a "doubles specialist" because I didn't notice anything wrong Dani did.I guess I selectively paid attention to how well Chan/Chuang was catching up by their own effort and Dani's beautiful pair of legs.
No,no,I didn't. XD I'm going outside my homeland to Hokkaido Thursday for the first time in my life.
A friend shared her pics on her wedsite.I just picked some I liked and put them here.Yes,I love that one,it makes it feel so real.Wimbledon doubles title we're coming!
We play a lot. My mom plays in a competitive team for women over 18 (but really most are 40s-50s) and doesn't play any singles, but she loves doubles And she doesn't get to watch a lot of pro doubles, but she loves it.
And me, well, I'm better at doubles because you have to move less, sort of. I have more time to set my shots up... and I'm really good at the net. I could put away any volley... Well, I use to I've been concentrating on upping my groundstrokes and have lost my touch at the net So I have to work on it this coming week I'm playing in a competitive team all summer (10 hours of training each week)
Having trouble with my mouse so I can't edit my post
Yeah, Dani made two BIG mistakes when they were serving it out. She went for a volley but then let it go and never said anything so Ivanovic wasn't ready, and then she missed a smash. And that put Chan & Chuang back in the match, really, because it put them up 15-40 on Dani/Ana's serve. (They did do a lot right though )
Ahh, I see those pics are really nice
And as much as I hate to say this, eh, I'm still pulling for Ai over Chia and Yung-Jan But I hope that we're setting up for an Ai/Kata vs. Chia/Yung-Jan final Goo girls
It's good,I wish I could have a regular training like you do.But you have to know we don't have many tennis courts here. But I'm going to college, and I'm attending tennis club, maybe tennis team if possible. There will be 6 courts to be used.

Now I remember that one.The point was funny.:haha: Dani made quite a few decent shots in the match but that point was...
She could've easily reached it and made it a volley winner. And she let go... And Ana was like . devil
Oh that's cool I hope you can train regularly
Ana was actually a better doubles player than I thought. She followed her partner and made some nice shots. Daniela made some nice shots too but she was a bit rusty imo.
Yan/Peng def. (3) Chan/Chuang 63 62
YJ and CJ
That's too bad Zi was just playing amazing, Shuai wasn't too shabby - it was very difficult out there for YJ & CJ
Good luck in mixed.
(This match-up was very unfortunate )
I'm back from my trip to Hokkaido. Very beautiful place, and Japanese people are all so nice and polite. I'd like to visit there again.
Sad to see them losing while it was all for them to dig deep-winning both tune-ups.I didn't watch the match but most fans in Taiwan watching that match noticed the unusual coughs of Chia-Jung.Yung-Jan said in her website afterwards that they actually caught cold, which kind of affected their consentration on court.
Meanwhile she applauded their opponents for the great tennis they had performed, especially Yan.Yung-Jan was quite impressed with Yan's volley and her penetrating baseline attack that day.Shuai's serve didn't give them many chances,either.However,Yung-Jan understood they couldn't be haunted by the loss,as there were still matches ahead of them,so were chances. As long as they keep working hard and believe in each other, they can't be counted out as the main contenders in every tournament-even a GS.
Wish them best of luck in the future,Yung-Jan and Chia-Jung.
Well said Glad your trip was nice.
Really, Shuai and Zi were just really on fire that day... sure Chia and Yung weren't at their best, but I still think they would've had trouble
It was a wonderful grass season anyways
And the summer hardcourts will be interesting.
Yung-Jan is entered in LA.

Yung-Jan on clay=
Yung-Jan made a comment on her website saying she's heartbroken as well, responding to a fan described it as a heartbreaking result. She said she could hardly feel the balls which bounced greatly different from on grass. With the pressure of country expectations and the knowing that she should take this based on rankings, plus the tiredness of long flights, she was overthinking this.Hopefully she'll be feeling better and playing her games against Kostanic.Go Chan! -Jelena KOSTANIC TOSIC (CRO) vs. Su-Wei HSIEH (TPE) ::Su-Wei HSIEH (TPE) def. I think she uses a lot of top spin? I don't understand why. Glad that she doesn't have to play on clay till next season. (Tanasugarn is pathetic on clay and still she was once in th top 20. )
Too bad.Seeing the list, who would ever think Taiwan was gonna lose? Croatia didn't even send their #2 and #3?Get over it,and do some damage on your favorite hardcourt!
 Ai isn't the best on clay either, neither is Sharapova, and they're both top 10 players (well at one point at least :lol
There's always next year for fed cup YJ&CJ
Hm, strange. I wish there was like Roland Garros live so I could watch her match against Likhovtseva - it was really epic, and I'd like to see what's so bad about her on clay. In my head it should suit her as she's not a power player

Sad loss. Only managed to take a game after 6-4 2-0,and the game is from breaking Vika's serve.Once again prooves she is really Yung-Jan I can't serve Chan. I'm still waiting for a real breakthrough for her.Hopefully it'll happen as soon at USO.

Safely through their first match in doubles. In QF it won't be easy at all, where they'll have to confront the winning team beteeen 8th seeded Jankovic/Petrova or King/Peng.
