After winning her second round match at the junior aussie open i think its about time heather deserves her own thread. She won her first grade 1 title in 2008 at Yucatan, Mexico and reached the final of the prestigous eddie herr junior tournament.:) Good luck against Miyabi Inoue heather :D:D

Re: Heather Watson

So I went along today and had a good time.

I arrived half way through the dubs final and it looked like Marosi and Koeleher had a that little bit extra and were deserved winners. Then Heather walked out on court, and in a flash seemed to be walking off the victor. lol. She was in control of the majority of rallies and seemed to be playing within herself. Beck, who is of similar stature to Heather, couldn't get a foothold in the match. She didn't really have the ability to penetrate through Heather.

I didn't see much of the Barthel match, but she has been playing superbly of late and is a big hitter. But then again, Heather has already played Sharapova who is, arguably, the biggest hitter of all. So that is not really going to intimidate Heather. Heather will have a pretty good shot, maybe 45-55 in Barthel's favour though.

Hopefully Heather can continue 'The sequence'.

It would be so amazing if Heather could pull this off. I fancy her chanced, on home soil etc. I think she is hungry for it after that tight loss in Quebec. Fingers crossed

Re: Heather Watson

Went down in the final today 0-6 3-6

well done Heather on a very productive week. Barthel has been on a superb run of late and it looks as though the result was compounded by Heather not playing to her best.

Still, a career high of 88 or so next week.

Re: Heather Watson

Barthel hits extremely flat so my guess is that she was on top form yesterday! A good week from Heather though and I believe will be reaching her career high rank!

Re: Heather Watson

I think poor Heather was exhausted. Last minute to play tournament and coming in from the U.S. probably took its toll on her.

Re: Heather Watson

She was a late withdrawal from France 25k this week.
Should be playing Linz next.
She is on list for Linz for the week of the 10th.

Re: Heather Watson

Bad news.

Had to get an MRI done yesterday on my foot and it turns out I have an inflamed tendon. Fortunately it was nothing too serious that some rest and rehab won't solve but sadly had to pull out of Linz next week. Should be fine for Luxembourg though!
