I hope they bring back the best of 5 set final round. It's a nice way to finish off the year.

RIP Elena Baltacha, thank you for dedicating your life to a sport we all love. You'll be missed but never forgotten.

Yeah it would be nice to see. It really would separate the best from the rest of the field!
Though how would our Amelie hold up? A 5 set match on her knee could cause more damage!

It's amazing that Seles won this title 12 years ago. It's weird to not see Vee's name on the list. I know it's because she doesn't play it but it's still weird.

Yes it was Pam SHRIVER (no "C" in her name) Pam had quite the tournament. She beat Chris Evert in the quarters 75 64 and then snapped Steffis 46 match winnning streak in the semis with a score of 63 76. It was quite an amazing thing that match considering Steffi just won the grand slam AND the Olympics. Pam had a funny quote after that match cause Steffi claimed she was sick with a flu or something and had a high fever (which was probably true but none the less she still lost) and Pam, wanting the win to be a genuine "win" said "well I watched Steffi clean Maleevas clock last night so she couldnt be THAT sick". Steffi did beat Manuela Maleeva the round before 61 62. But i think to compare Manuelas game to Pams was strange as surely Pams game was more agressive and would be harder for Steffi indoors than Maleeva. Pam played the match of her life and its funny to hear Pam talk of that match even today. She said something about it during last years season finale when they showed a clip of it and she said something like "13 years ago and I'm still living off that high!"

She never beat Graf again after that match.
