First singles title for Filipovski

For the sixth consecutive year, Palic 1878 Tennis Club, located by the Lake Palic within an ancient pine forest, was the host for a tournament on the ITF Women's Circuit. This $10,000 tournament, held at the oldest tennis club in the country, attracted players from seventeen countries from all over the world, all competing for the traditional blue vase trophy, a trademark of Palic.

The singles final saw 22-year old Ani Mijacika from Croatia take on Hungary's Aleksandra Filipovski, the No. 3 seed, for the title. Mijacika, who had battled her way into the final having come through the qualifying event, would have been in a confident state of mind following her semi final triumph over the No. 1 seed but she was unable to prevent her 17-year old opponent claiming the title with a 63 75 victory. This win gave Filipovski her career first singles title on the ITF Pro Circuit, won on the courts where her current coach first started out in tennis.

There was success however for Mijacika in the doubles event, where she took the title with 64 60 win, with partner Dunja Antunovic of Hungary.

Winter Is Coming

"Fine words." Tyrion was unimpressed. "Words are wind. Who is this bloody savior?"
"A dragon." The cheesemonger saw the look on his face at that, and laughed. "A dragon with three heads."
