Congrats Patty! :) :)

I am so happy for you!

What a great week - and a great win in the final against Lindsay - someone she'd never beaten before!

WOOHOO!

what was most impressive was how strong she was mentally in the final..

I really thought that losing the set points in the first set and losing that set would get to her, and she would fold in the 2nd set.

But NO! She was sooo strong, and even saved a MP in the 2nd set tiebreaker!!!

There were sooo many BP's she saved today. I am so impressed! I hope she continues to play like this now! Her game is so beautiful to watch. I really hope she keeps on improving so I can see her game on TV more!

Congrats again Patty!

Well Done to Patty

-- Lindsay TOP Clan

It's not shyness I have. It's just that I'm not one of those people who loves to open a newspaper of magazine and see myself all the time. I don't like that at all. I prefer to play my tennis which I love, and with which I've been blessed.

martinafan : You are ABSOLUTELY right What was impressive today is how Patty stayed calm during key moments and how she managed to save quite a few break points

I'm in Heaven. Period.

congrats Patty

i new someone like her would win it when i saw the speed of the courts ........ slower than clay.

with Smashnova beating Chanda on day 1 things looked fishy and it proved very slow in the end.

they made the courts slow for Hingis but Patty was the one who ended up the conquerer.

either way the Swiss ended up with what they wanted

Good luck to my favs

Thanks tennisfan-mtl.....i just wish i could have seen the match!

I was waiting for the old, mentally-unstable patty to appear lol...and get smashed in the 2nd set....but she was so strong!

I am so proud of her!

ANd to do this in front of her home crowd must make her feel soooo good!

Congrats again Patty!

Eggy I think it's great that they made the courts slow cuz Americans always make the courts fast for their players. Besides Lindsay lost in Moscow and Filderstadt too on faster courts so it just goes to show that upset can occur on any type of surface. But the slower courts are better IMO cuz the rallies are longer and it's not just about the serve anymore. Also having the Swiss crowd there had to have helped Patty. She really played amazing to beat Bovina, Hantuchova and Davenport in three sets!

Yes, congrats Patty.
I think this time she really outrallied her opponents. And beating Conchi with her own weapons was one point why I expected her to win rhis fi nal. It was the patience not to hit the winner too early.
This will be a mental turbo-booster for her ! Next year's hers. Hopefully !

The match was really thrilling and it was so good to see Patty winning in the end. She fought so hard, saved 11 bp and even one match point. She really deserves this title!

"This is the biggest win of my career, I had so many emotions throughout the week, playing in front of my home crowd. It feels great to be champion here." - Swisscom Challenge Champion 2002 Patty Schnyder
