Indy de Vroome (NED) d. Marina Shamayko (RUS) 62 63

Indy has improved her serve drastically in such a short amount of time, how in the world has that happened?

She has always had a good serve, but she has changed the motion several times the last years and that resulted in loads of double faults. You could compare it to Rus who served tons of DF's and is now serving less and serving aces as well

That explains it I wasn't able to watch a lot of her matches but when I did, her serve was one of the first things I noticed and it was very impressive but then I see in her next matches, she's double faulting like crazy.

Hopefully she can win this!

Hardly an explanation, but still, very impressive 3 wins. The real test is next up.

Most it has to do with confidence obviously But regarding service motion, she always had a pinpoint stance. At the end of last year she then did some tournaments with a platform stance and now she is back to the pinpoint stance so that must be quite hard to change that everytime

Hopefully Indy can keep going here

Great final

Nuria finally stepping up btw. After winning her first title in Istanbul earlier this month (beating Kulichkova on her way to the title) now she gets to her first $25K semis.
