Jamie If Kiick beat her last week it would have been a bad loss. Nicely done.

Mayo keeps coming! I knew it was a mistake for Lauren to play here. I know she is struggling for confidence (barely above .500 for the year right now) but playing strong 50Ks where she could very well lose in the first round, like she did today, do absolutely nothing to help that.

I know she's young but I'm sad to say she may have already achieved her best results given her height and general talent level. No serve, no forehand, good backhand but can't really be aggressive.

Suicide: Strasbourg

Davis should've gone to college.

Nah, I think she was and is too good for that level. She has done very well for herself making the top 100 and a few quarterfinals at tour events. She's way better than the other American hacks that skipped out on college (looking at Brengle, Albanese, Muhammad).

Wow, I figured Lauren was playing here to build up some confidence, but I didn't realize she is barely above .500. She started the year so strongly with a QF in Hobart and winning Midland. Definitely think it would be a better decision for her to play Stanford instead of Lexington. We also have to consider that maybe she is playing these lower level events to try and work on some things in her game. Gonna try and stay positive.

I think it's way to early to say she has achieved her best results. Personally, I think she has a lot of natural talent and clearly has great athletic ability, which make up for some of what she lacks physically. She'll never be a world beater, but she wants to succeed at this game and I think as long as she wants it, she can hang around the 50-100 range.

No... just no. You don't send a girl with the type of results that Lauren had as a junior/young pro. It would have been a waste of time. For girls like Gibbs and Burdette, who had the tools and potential, but not the results or maturity yet to go pro, college was a fantastic development decision. Lauren was ready and has proved it. She is only 19, lets not forget, and has already made it inside the top 100.
