Good question... I'm baffled that I haven't heard of her before. I'm usually up-to-date on all of the US juniors who show promise. Looked at her record and now I see why. She represents the USA but lives in Croatia. She generally only plays 10k events and junior tournaments there/around Europe. She's done pretty well at the 10k level, consistently reaching semis or finals of events. She beat Siniakova last year at the junior level. Interesting. I might tweet Colette Lewis and see if she can give me any more information.
Bernarda was born in Zadar (Croatia). Her father has American citizenship so she also took it. She did not have good training conditions in Croatia so she decided to took American citizenship and move to USA to have better possibilities. She moved to USA in 2010. and I know that than she trained at Nick Bolletieri academy (maybe she still does).
i heard about pera last year so i thought she was pretty hyped already because i usually don't follow junior tournaments when i randomly had some info and pics on my website (cos my friend attented a junior event in italy) many people googled for her... surely some have expectations from this girl
