One puzzling question to any bonus-point specialist

Hi,
Just a question about bonus point...
Supposing that Amelie-melo beats Jelena (seeded 3), will she get the bonus points of beating number 4 in the world (Jelena's rank when the commitments were made)?
And if she beats Lindsay? Will she get the bonus points of beating n°3 in the world - according to her special ranking?
Thanx in advance...

Amelie Mauresmo, Marion Bartoli, Nathalie Dechy, Tatiana Golovin, Celine Beigbeder, Virginie Razzano, Emilie Loit, Stephanie Foretz, Camille Pin, Elodie LeBescond ... and the other beautiful French girls...

You get bonus points for the persons CURRENT rank, not thir commitment rank.

VENUS. ANA, TAY TAY. NICOLE. LAURA. KONJUH. MADISON

SERENA. MUGU. VIKA. PETKO. CARO. TIMEA. SVETA. HEATHER. KAIA. TAMIRA. FLAVIA. GEORGI. COCO. LUCIE, SLOANE. PENG. SORANA. ALICIA. JAEDA. CICI. ANETT. DANKA. DONNA. FRANCOISE.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. SHENAY. DINARA. GISELA. SPREM.

Isn't this shocking?
I mean, Lindsay is enjoying her 2001 ranking privileges but the player that beats her don't get a lot of points... whereas Amelie is n° 4 in the world and she doesn't have any bye...
Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I think it'll do Amelie good to play an extra match. I'm glad she doesn't have a bye.

Amélie Mauresmo, 2009 GDF Suez, 2007 Proximus Diamond Games, 2006 World No. 1 ,Wimbledon Champion, Proximus Diamond Games, Gaz, Australian Open, 2005 YEC, Advanta Chamionships, Italian Open, Proximus Diamond Games, 2004 World No. 1, Advanta Championships, Generali Linz, Rogers Cup, Italian Open, German Open, 2003 J&S Cup, Advanta Championships, 2002 Rogers AT&T Cup, Dubai Open, 2001 Gaz, Nice, Amelia Island, and Eurocard Ladies German Open, 2000 Adidas International, and 1999 Bratislava Champion

There's a fine line between love and hate; that line is called family!

No one does things exactly the way I want them to. No one ever has. It’s a problem they have!

AZARENKA!

What if the world #1 withdraws midway thru a match... lets say she was leading 6-0, 3-0 when she twisted an ankle or something... will the lower ranked opponent get the 100 bonus points even though she didn't win a game? If so its unfair!

Yes. And Yes. But this are the rules. And most of the time, they work just fine.

Thanks for clearing that, Maya,

Unfortunately if this ever happens, some girl will have an unnecessarily high ranking for an entire year!

If it does happen, i hope the one who benefits is from among my favourites

danielrosaria....unnecessarily high ranking... if you get 100 points...you are not really into the top 20 yet you know

Of course she will be higher..but 100 points is not THAT much
