Hand 3 must beat Hand 1 + Hand 2?

Re: Three Hands #1 - Australian Open [After R128 Six leads jointly]
Hand 3 must beat Hand 1 + Hand 2?
Yes, some people will choose a weak hand 1 to make sure hand 2 and hand 3 are valid for the bonus points.
- Chosen players who received BYE and lost in their first match will receive 0 points.
- Each hand will receive points according to the the round each player chosen lost in the tournament, though
- Hand 2 must beat Hand 1, or it's invalid. If it's a valid hand, points (x2).
- Hand 3 must beat Hands 1 & 2, or it's invalid. If it's a valid hand, points (x3).
- Perfect Hands: Receiving best possible points before hand bonuses applied will have total points (x2).
- No perfect hands bonuses will be awarded for tournaments in RR format.
- Invalid hands receive 0 points.

Ok, I thought Hand 3 must beat Hand 1 and Hand 2, but not in the sum. Never mind, Serena will solve this problem.

Re: Three Hands #1 - Australian Open [After R64 Three leads jointly]

Cause your hand 3 is currently = to hand 1 + 2 which means it's invalid = 0 points at this moment.
As the game progress more players will fall off the rounds. Hopefully you picked the right player in the right hand to avoid an invalid 3rd hand.

so the fact that Na beat Aga must be good for me right
That depends on if other top players bomb out.
First time I am sure many people don't get the rules. It should get better next time!
I will try to revise the rules so
whoever posts first tie-break won't be used so often.

11 people tied leading.
I think the rules need to change a bit in the future to prevent this from happening

Re: Three Hands #1 - Australian Open [After R16 Eleven leads jointly]
Perfect Hand Requirements for Australian Open 2013:
Code:
Victoria Azarenka
Svetlana Kuznetsova
Serena Williams
Sloane Stephens
Li Na
Agnieszka Radwanska
Ekaterina Makarova
Maria Sharapova
The only two participants who have chosen players out of the ordinary that made the Quarterfinals was Svetlana Kuznetsova.
Honorly mention (5 picks):
However, they also picked Angelique Kerber instead of Li Na and/or Sharapova, so they will not be able to receive the (x2) bonus. Blame Makarova!

Eight leads after quarterfinals.
Someone has Sharapova for Hand 1, may have invalid hands at the end if she wins.

Re: Three Hands #1 - Australian Open [After QF 8 leads jointly]
I don't really get this game.

Intermediate updates are not final results.
As the round goes, a
hand may be valid or invalid based on the players the participant chose and how far the players have advanced.
After Quarterfinals, for your hand:
Hand 1 - Ivanovic = 3 points
Hand 2 - Li Na/Sharapova = 5+5 = 10 points
Hand 3 - Azarenka/S.Williams/A.Radwanska = 5+4+4 = 13 points
To receive valid hand points,
Hand 1 is always valid,
Hand 2 must be > than Hand 1,
Hand 3 must be > than Hand 1 + Hand 2,
So you received 3 + 10(2) + 13(0) = 23 points
You received 0 points for Hand 3 because 13 is not > (10+3).
Your third hand will become valid after the final if Azarenka wins the Australian Open, because
Hand 2 - Li Na/Sharapova = 5+6 (or 6+5) = 11 points
Hand 3 - Azarenka/S.Williams/A.Radwanska = 7+4+4 = 15 points
and 15 > (11+3).
Currently, you, Igorche, and Kylger are all in this situation.
I hope it makes more sense now.
