Re: Qualifying Entry List?

Interesting scenario now.

Either Burdette is not playing qualies or she is taking Keys' MDWC as a finalist in the American WC play-off.

So Dentoni and Ferrer Suárez should be in Q now. The thing is now most of the players in ALTs are not in Australia as they did not expect to get in. They surely have time to catch a plane and play but their preparation might not be the best one.

So what happens if all the Alts are withdrawing as not in Australia as didnt think they would get in ( Gasparyan, Sadikovic etc ), do they fill it wiith australian players or doubles players, its going quite far down the Alt list oif Dentoni and Ferrar Suarez are getting in when WC,s announced.

How cruel that Nicole got in because Mal withdrew.

I'm guessing since Keys won quite handily against Czink yesterday and Burdette went down meekly to Date-Krumm, she is the one who withdrew from the tournament. Maybe she is ill or something? Must be serious for her to have been in Australia for the past two weeks and not compete in Melbourne.

There's always random rich players hanging around at the sign-in praying to get in. Stevenson once got in when she was like #270, she doesn't play doubles so she must have been there for singles. I also remember Moulton-Levy saying in her blog how she flew to Paris when she was well deep in the alternates list.

Thank you

It looks like the cut-off for qualies will be very high this year.
