Really solid field. All of these girls, with the exception of Cohen and given her recent form, Falconi, have a really great shot at a win in the Maindraw. I would like to see that last TBA spot go to a talented junior... Townsend, Duval, or Crawford, preferably.

Interesting that Pegula and Min did not get chosen, but honestly, both are probably best served playing in the qualifying draw due to recent inconsistency.

Pegula doesn't train with the USTA, does she? Prolly the reason why she's being looked over.

I hope the last spot goes to Townsend. She is skipping Orange Bowl which is around the same week with this play-off. I wonder whether USTA will snub the #1 jr player again.

Maria Sanchez, Julia Cohen, Mallory Burdette, and Irina Falconi don't either though, do they? I know Sanchez doesn't, and until recently Burdette was a college student so she doesn't either. I believe Falconi and Cohen have private coaches.

Falconi trains in Atlanta. I believe Burdette is in Florida training with some USTA help but im not sure.

Gibbs? Is she planning on going to Australia, has she definitely gone pro.
Anyway I suspect Keys starts as favourite. But it really is anyone's game.
Mattek-Sands is the best player but her form will be questionable.
Sanchez has really rocketed this year so could be hers.
To be honest those that don't make are more than capable of qualifying.

Love the field, glad they are still giving Julia and Glatch a go still after good years.
V v surprized they didn't include Min and Townsend (who will have a QD WC anyway. Min not getting much love (no WC @ US Open) form USTA.
Scholl, Gibbs & Pegula unlucky too. Maybe Rogers could have got an invite>
Depsite winning paly offs a few times, clear Brengle is defo on the outter., Guess she hasn't improved much. Same with Riske.

I think she's injured. Not 100% sure though. A shame, since she was finally picking up some steam the past year and a half.

As for everyone inquiring about Pegula, she tweeted that she was invited but opted not to play the event. Must be either trying to qualify on her own, or staying behind to play the Florida 25k's that take place in January.

Alison Riske will round out the women's field, according to the event's facebook page.

This.

I hope BMS, Glatch, or Keys win :)
