Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

Good win in doubles

Kaia Kanepi vs Jelena Jankovic NB. 1:00pm
Again can't follow the match Jovanovski vs Martic as the night match instead of Kaia's match

Thought Jovanovski vs Martic would be the 1st match.
Barthel vs Kerber and Kanepi vs JJ to me are way more interesting matches
If I rush home, I will be able to watch Kaia
But I wanted to watch Mona vs Angelique as well

If Anett gets to top 100 by the end of next year and Kaia keeps hovering around top 20 or makes a breakthrough, then if they played as specialists doubles team the Estonian Fed Cup team could make world group with a good draw!!!
Margit and Maret aren't that good friends. They get along when they play for Fed Cup but that's where their relationship stands.

Margit is good friends with Kaia. Besides Margit can't play tennis at high level anymore.

Good luck Kaia and Anett in 2014.
Also Wozniacki, Jankovic, Ivanovic, Stosur, Gajdosova and K-Kookie!!

Luckily I can most likely watch the match tomorrow (or at least peek with one eye, oh the pleasures of being an office rat )
Good luck to Kaia, I hope she can take it in two!

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

Kaia into Copenhagen QF!

The match against Babos was a mess. Many Winners of course, but also lots of very stupid UEs. And DFs at important moments. Thank God she fought and won it somehow. Nice choke in 3rd set at 4-2 [40-0]

Sadly Kaia is far away from her amazing high-quality tennis in Australia. Good luck vs Jankovic!

Serena: "We have great personalities like Jelena (Jankovic) on the tour."
Jelena: "If I had to pick someone after me, I'd pick Serena."

Good Luck

Barbara Kvelstein probably realized that pursuing tennis pro career is a waste of time and money. Nowadays she is studying political sciences and on free time travels around the world, to support her tennis playing Chilean boyfriend.
Julia Matojan occasionally plays local tournaments, but has also given up pro tennis.
Thanks. So is Anett Schutting coming back after college. Or dana ihsanova??? We have lost sooo many players

On a brighter note, Kaia has a shot at the double title!!! They should be able to take Cornet/Parmentier

Kaia lost 64 16 36
Well, actually I already smelled a bagel in the 3rd so it is good that she prevented that at least.

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

JJ gave her almost a virtual double bagel. 64 10 to 64 16 05. She was really off after losing her serve in the 2nd set. And it was because of a bad judgement: she was about to hit the smash, but didn't in the last moment thinking it would go long, but it was just in..

The score at least looks better in 3rd set, but it wasn't close

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

Almost gave up,started to hit,but too late...She has to learn something from this match.Scoreline is acceptable though, given how Jelena played, but it was such a winnable match.Hopefully she wins the doubles title.

So she has two weeks off after that huh?

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

Yeah, it seems like it. She can practice on clay a bit, and maybe improve her coaching situation

But yea, there's still doubles Maybe they will even be streamed, would be nice.

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

The ones who saw the match and are wondering what happened in the second set and most of third I can say that she was playing under 4 pain killers as her toenail came off yesterday. She said she wanted to win but moving to the sides was really painful and due to pain killers she turned quite numb..She gave credit to Jelena for playing good though
I really hopes her luck changes,,,

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

There is a little comment after every match on Kaia's homepage, even after the loss
Kaia's own words: "I felt a bit tired today, not as fresh as before. In the first set my first serve worked well, in the second and third set not so much. Jelena played very well, she barely made any mistakes."

Cmon, take the doubles title
