I just watched 1st set till 2:2 (all 4 games were breaks of serve) and then from 3:5* in 3rd set. She fought to 4*:5 and then couldn't hold her serve (starting with DF).
I was afraid she'd lose, but it was so close. Anyways, she has doubles left to play now, and then Fed Cup in Tallinn.
I also woke up at the end of the game and watched it from 2-3. Got really upset with Kaia's game. She had no will what-so-ever in the third to actually win this match. Especially on her own serves. I just couldn't watch because the serve was all over the place. The only serves she managed to put on court were aimed directly at Goerges forehand.
The only good thing about that match was Kaia's backhand. Was happy to see she's not afraid to hit it. Some great points from there, but also some mistakes.
Hope she get's her form together and then makes a big run in US hard-courts.
Good luck Kaia and Anett in 2014. Next stop: Fed Cup in Tallinn versus Spain. It could be interesting, hopefully Maret is in some kind of form to make the Spaniards life very difficult. At least she's very inspired in the Fed Cup matches
Anybody from Estonia going to Tallinn to support Kaia in Fed Cup?
R1: Anett Kontaveit (EST) v Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez (ESP)
R2: Kaia Kanepi (EST) v Carla Suarez Navarro (ESP)
R3: Kaia Kanepi (EST) v Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez (ESP)
R4: Anett Kontaveit (EST) v Carla Suarez Navarro (ESP)
R5: Maret Ani / Kaia Kanepi (EST) v Nuria Llagostera Vives / Anabel Medina Garrigues (ESP)
Spain is the clear favourite. Estonia needs a miracle in order to win.
Serena: "We have great personalities like Jelena (Jankovic) on the tour." Jelena: "If I had to pick someone after me, I'd pick Serena."
