Just hope she gives Vera a fight also now tomorrow. That could become an great match also, if Kaia feel like playing and doesn't give up.

Good luck Kaia and Anett in 2014.

On court I would be like a mix of Zvonareva/Serena.
The complete opposite of Kaia!

BTW you have nice Kaia avatars.

Excited for the QF match!

Serena: "We have great personalities like Jelena (Jankovic) on the tour."
Jelena: "If I had to pick someone after me, I'd pick Serena."

Good Luck

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

Vera Zvonareva won 63 75

winners/UE

Kaia 18/60
Vera 10/28

This was a little bit frustrating to watch, especially when they get the long rallies coming which usually ended with Kaia's UE. Vera was solid getting everything back.

Even I'm slightly disappointed at the moment, it was still a good tournament.

Her schedule for the rest of the year: Tokyo, Beijing and Moscow() (and it's looking good for Bali at the moment)

The match was OK, a lot of long rallies yeah which ended in UE unfortunately. Kaia played very loose tennis in quarters. Most of the time she didn't do much with the ball, just sent it back in the center of the court. When she was going for her shots from cc to cc Zvonareva was in a little trouble. Kaia should have kept it up like that and made Zvonareva run around the court. Eventhough with Zvonareva being a great defender and in good physical form, she would have tired very quickly.

Anyways, I'm very happy with the tournament itself. Kaia achived my mark set for her, so can't complain!

Good luck for the rest of the tour Kaia. Make your way to Bali and don't forget to win another title in Asia!!!

Good luck Kaia and Anett in 2014.

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

Now to Asia. Kaia's part of the draw in Tokyo:

[13] Shahar Peer (ISR) vs Timea Bacsinszky (SUI)
Melanie Oudin (USA) vs Kaia Kanepi (EST)
Petra Kvitova (CZE) vs Alona Bondarenko (UKR)
bye vs [3] Jelena Jankovic (SRB)

Not as tough as it could of been, and good news is there is no one she isn't able to beat.
GL!

I just had a look at the draw also and I was like
R1 - Oudin
R2 - Peer
R3 - JJ
QF- Sharapova or Schiavone.

Hopefully Kaia feels OK and finds her feet quickly. QF is definately a possibility, she just needs to stay focused.

Good luck Kaia and Anett in 2014.

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

def. Oudin 64 64

Kaia was in trouble holding her serve, but Oudin saved her being even worse. 7 DFs.. Hopefully it was just a bad day, and things are better in the next round.

I'm sure it will. Kaia just takes her time to get used to the court, the weather and everything. I was expecting a 3 set battle on this, but glad to see Oudin didn't feel like playing

Kaia usually rises her level of play against the big names and fights hard, so hopefully now R2 will be more convincing win for her.

Good luck Kaia and Anett in 2014.

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

Tokyo r2
def. Peer 63 76(5)

H2H now 3-3 (yes, let's count that Fed Cup win in Tallinn too!)

Next up Jelena Jankovic (again) it's their 3rd meeting this season.
I hope they'll show it on Eurosport or at least it's on scoreboard.

Good luck!

EDIT: it will be on Eurosport!
