Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

Yeah, even if she loses every match she should still be around 80-90 in the ranks after Wimbledon. But Kaia has always been up and down player, maybe she picks up some form out of nowhere and makes a good run at RG and saves her ranking

Yeah, well at this rate this is just around the corner

I really hope she can find some form.. Last year she didn't do so well before Wimbledon either.

Re: Kaia Kanepi Cheering Thread!!!

I find it so weird that she has these weird losses because her game is actually quite safe except maybe her Serve...

After consulting with doctors in Madrid, Kaia decided to withdraw from Rome WTA tournament due to right heel injury.

Kaia’s own words: „I started to feel pain again in my right heel after first round match in Miami. Usually some minor pain in the heel passes within one day, it took two weeks to recover this time. It also affected my preparation for the clay season as I could only play once a day. During past tournaments I could only play the first set without any pain, then I started to feel some pain in the heel again.

After my first round loss in Madrid I consulted with several doctors who in overall were optimistic. They said that it is common for athletes and with right treatment and exercises it is possible to overcome it. Right now I give my legs a bit rest and do recreational exercises that the doctors suggested. I do plan to participate in Paris and Wimbledon.“

The surgery was in November 2012 so it helped her to play (relatively) pain free for over a year

Oh that's unfair These injuries are really destroying her carreer. So a complete recovery will never be achieved I guess, too bad Maybe she should not play RG and start again with grass season, she has a QF to defend there in Wimbledon
