At least the second set is being closer...Not watching, just following scores once in a while...

Shvedova won't ever play that well in her whole life...Brava Sara who isn't just surrending like all the others would

may your choices reflect your hopes not your fears.

Re: Cheering Thread: Grass Season

Should've taken those breakpoints at 3-3
But yeah at least it's somewhat respectable now.

Sniff, I left the match with 4-4 and now I have seen it is over Anyway, two wins on grass is not bad for Sara, good luck in the doubles now! ˇˇVamos!!

Re: Cheering Thread: Grass Season

Missed opportunities on 3-3 and 4-4 came back to hurt her....predictable.

But like I said elsewhere, gotta respect her for the huge fight she showed in the 2nd set.

Now mixed later, against Mirnyi and Azarenka.....can we just let Fognini serve every game?

Sure, shame the match didn't start with that second set instead so that she was in the match all the time, but hey, some days you can't win, your rival is better than you, you have to accept that and just try to fight and make the match as long as possible, and that is what she did. She can't win all the time, can she?

Re: Cheering Thread: Grass Season

Didn't watch the singles but tuned in for the mixed match against Vika. Sara had fully recovered from the earlier loss clearly enjoying herself . I had seen Fognini once and he came across as somewhat grumpy then but not today, he and Sara made a lovely couple . They lost that match too but that was clearly not the point.

Sara's clearly a clay court specialist but it'll be interesting to see how she performs on HC after playing so well this year on clay. Grass's not really her thing probably.

Re: Cheering Thread: Grass Season

The mixed was quite lovely indeed. Good to see her enjoy herself out there.
And she aced Mirnyi. *dead*

Have I read 'ace' next to Sara's name? And to a man?

To a man who can pretty much spread his arms and cover the whole court.
Not that she held her serve during the match, but well.

There's still the regular doubles at least. 3rd round vs Radwanska sisters, on tuesday.

Lol, after waiting for so long since the last doubles match, the Radwanskas haven't played, so Sara and Roby go through without playing, and will play Hlavackova/Hradecka next, good luck!

Their last match was on friday, that's almost a week off.
Well, at least they are in the quarterfinal.
