No updates until next year. She climbed one position because Li Na now has officially retired (got taken out of the rankings).

Angie :yeah: Really happy Flavia did not win Sofia, she would have been under that weird top 10 rule.
Good for Andrea she's outside the top 10, too.

Angie has to at least make the final in Antwerp to stay in the Top 10 - unless Petko makes the semis, then Angie actually has to win it.

It's not going well at all.
And she still has 205 points to defend in the next 4 weeks before she finally gets some breathing room during the clay season.

Mar 2, 2015
She has to reach at least the 4th round in IW and Miami I guess and then she will probably draw Serena
(Not that I expect her to beat Sharapova, Kvitova or Halep. Draws are really getting tough now
)

this is true, but she hasn't helped herself with easier draws this year as a top 10 player either. Curious how Daria Gavrilova has not met much success after her epic battles with Angie in 2015. Just saying, it took alot of effort to dispatch her, and now Angie's struggling, while DG is also losing (what do those wins mean now?)
I would enjoy a chance at an upset at this stage, more than watching Angie lose to a lesser player.

In Madrid its the same for Petko, Bouchard and Makarova. So its not that easy, but at least possible and there is Aga with 390 points in Madrid.
Hope she can at least make QFs in Madrid and Paris. All these Mandatory tournaments with no or under 100 points begin to hurt her ranking.
