Re: Angie's 2017 - June & July - Grass Season
The Battle for #1
I substracted all points (and considered 16/17 results) that Angie, Halep and Pliscova have to defend till the US Open.
Angie ended with 4730 ranking points, Halep: 4920 (+190), Pliskova: 5410 (+680)
This means, going into the US Open as #1 Angie needs to win 160 points more than Halep and 650 points more than Pliskova during the next 3 months. This is not so much as I did expect before I calculated the points.
At the US Open they defend Angie: 2000, Halep: 430 and Pliskova: 1300.
Depending who will win Wimbledon we might have one more participian in the #1-battle. But just a few are close enough to compite over the next months.
Can Angie improve her level? Can Halep and Pliskova keep their level from the first half of the year and repeat their success from last years Montreal/Cincinetti/US Open?
Keep in mind both had the advantage not to play in Rio. Therefore they had less travel and jet lag problems in Cincinnati and could better prepare for the US Swing.

Reason: corrected pts, Angie has 30 pts less
