Re: Angie's 2017 - May & June - Clay Season

She'll play Fed Cup, Stuttgart, Rome, Madrid and Paris.

Let's hope she will have some more wins than in 2016 and that she can finally beat Svitolina again in Stuttgart but it's going to be so tough

Re: Angie's 2017 - Clay Season

i guess the Serena news means Angie will play the first match on Tuesday on centre court at Wimbledon as the runner up and possibly number one seed....

it has happened before, Goolagong didnt defend once and maybe Evert too?

Re: Angie's 2017 - Clay Season

^^Recently, I remember that Lisicki opened the CC in 2014 after Bartoli retired the year before. There was a bit of a discussion back then IIRC because people thought Serena as No.1 would do it but they chose Lisicki as the runner-up.

Still can't believe Serena is pregnant. Angie found very lovely words about her in a German interview and she said Serena will be a world-class mom

I wish she somehow could find the Wimbledon form from last year at this year's event but we all know it won't happen. Well, clay first

Re: Angie's 2017 - Clay Season

i'd forgotten about Bartoli!
what did Angie say in that interview about Serena, can you translate it please?
i saw her nice tweet about the news
finally, i know that angie has to get to the semis in stuttgart to reclaim number 1 spot, but even if she doesnt, does anyone know when she would/could take back the number 1 spot again with Serena not playing? i think Pliskova is too far behind to get to no 1 just yet....

Didn't she win Rome? Probably when those points drop off then. But i figure she will get there in Stuttgart already. She loves the boost from Stuttgart home crowd and conditions are pretty fast for clay there.

I think Angie will come back strong for Wimbledon again. I predicted it last year when she was having horrible clay swing. I am predicting it again. And i will be right again.

Re: Angie's 2017 - Clay Season

i'm anxious to see what angie's summer schedule looks like. at first glance, i thought this time last year we had a better idea (and her fb and official website are of nohelp), but then found this from last year

Kerber exklusiv: Ziel ist die Medaille! luckily the link still works

looks like gotta wait few more weeks to see what she's planning

I don't know about you guys but I kinda miss the Y-3 zebra print Angie wore for Roland Garros and Birmingham last year

So Angie is playing Stuttgart-Madrid-Rome-Roland Garros?
As for the grass warmup toirnament, as much I like Eastbourne I rather Angie play Birmingham and take the week before Wimbledon to fine-tune on her game.

Personally I hated it I love Angie's new figure and I really like her in clothes that show off her figure. For me, her best outfits have been the Wimbledon one followed by the US hardcourt swing, followed by the US Open one

To be honest, I NEED Angie to win some matches on clay! If she has another season like last year I just don't know how she'll turn it around for grass given that she's been appalling all year.

Dokic&Kerber&Serena

Stosur - Venus - Hingis - Diyas - Jankovic - Niculescu
Dulgheru - Gavrilova - Davenport - Wozniacki

Aga - Kvitova - Cibulkova - Lisicki - Bencic - Cornet - Halep - Sevastova - Mladenovic
Some level of love/fascination for Ivanovic, Giorgi, Azarenka, Sharapova, Makarova, Kuznetsova, Zvonareva

First we have the FedCup weekend to look forward to
then take it one clay tournament at a time.

I really like Angie's adidas Wimbledon outfit photoshoot

and the baby blue/navy blue with orange skirt combination this season.
(what can I say, I really like the adidas neon orange )

True! I loved her Wimbledon stuff so much. I didn't like it at first, but seeing it on her changed my mind. She looked great.

Her AO outfit was great, I agree!

I would love to see her wearing clothes that highlight her features and figure (if she feels comfortable in them!) - she always seems to play better in good outfits instead of bad ones

Serena Williams ist schwanger: Angelique Kerber gratuliert

According to this she said: "I congratulated her yesterday already. There's nothing better in life than starting a family and I wish her all the best for her new period of life. It's going to be a very exciting time for her. I'm sure, Serena will be a world class mum on tour next year."

Yup. I predicted it, too Her clay season is no indicator for Wimbledon. It's just completely different A good performance in the grass-warm up tournament is more important imo.

Angie said that her main goal this season is to do well in Wimbledon. Winning this is probably her only dream left! (Mine too ) Serena is not there this year, so chances definitely increase...

I think that Angie will stick to her 2016 schedule and only play Birmingham. Assuming that she can win a few matches there, it would be the right decision for sure.
