Come in here to cry about Venus's loss

this is her first real loss (i don't count the ones to serena) since Hamburg final against Kim....

damnit, i really forgot how it feels, but now i remember. i guess in the end, to know how good a win feels, you have to have your losses

venus, we love ya girl! stay strong!

First real loss? I'm sorry I love venus to death but she just lost the us open final and it was very real. It was real when she lost the wimbledon final and it was real when she was taking pictures after losing the French open.

I'm not pissed at serena, i love her too and she deserved to win all three. I'm just confused because venus should be home practicing and figuring out serena's game. She has no points to defend so actually she can use this time as her off season. History has shown she hasn't done as well this time of year as compared to other times so I think it would be wise just to focus on rest relaxation renewing her batteries and then practicing!

Disappointed, yes I am but she will rise like the phoenix!

GO MOMO AND TAKE THIS TITLE!

Nothing to say. If I have to voice anything, I will venture that currently Venus is mentally down. Remember there is nothing more successful than success; take a corollary of that and you'll get a pretty good idea of Venus's situation. Wrongly, she's not feeling successful at all, even though she is in my book.

Venus should go back and practice like a winner. It's either that or downhill, baby.

bis, don't be a jerk.

Fear not, Venus will bounce back like the champion she is.

Reason is poor propaganda when opposed by the yammering, unceasing lies of shrewd and evil and self-serving men.

I think the last thing Venus at this time is more rest. She is having major service problems. All the practice in the world is not going to help her to execute her serves under a pressure situation like match play. For all we know she could be hitting the ball beautifully during practice and these inconsistency in her game only shows up under pressure situations. She need to feel the pressure and work around it. Instead of her going and practice, I feel she should go and play Zurich and and earn some more match play.

I am not conceited, I am just convinced

On the other hand, alot of the other girls can learn how to take it to venus and serena. Considering their losses this year it is obvious that a player has got to hang in there if they are to be in with a chance. We have had tons of threads on who will threaten the W/S domination.
Today's loss just reminds me that venus is human and not superwoman. As a W/S fan I always expect a win even on a bad day!
Congrats Maleeva, she saw an opportunity and took it!
Best of luck Venus in LA

Rena- a tennis great! 22 at striking distance.

You will ALWAYS be my fave no matter what VEE.... anything that doesn't distroy you makes you stronger and I KNOW VEE will be back stronger........good luck in LA

but now Vee has lost, wouldn't it be nice for one of the remaining russian girls to win ( As the ones lets' just say, I don't favour so much have been eliminated!) Or Lindsay... I'll be happy for her to win it too...:

I don't know joy, I couldn't see the match on TV, but the way she lost the 2nd set is more mental than physical.

Venus is just giving another excuse... always saying that she's tired after all her losses... If she's tired then why must she join this event? she knows her physical condition better than anyone else... duh...
