Re: 03/01/08 Will always be known as Erakovic day in New Zealand-1 March sounds good

You've all got Alzheimers!!!! It certainly hasn't been 16 years since a Kiwi made a WTA Quarter Final in Singles!

You only need to go back just on 6 years to October 2001 at the Japan Open when Pavlina Nola reached the Q/F in singles as a New Zealander.

Pavlina Nola changed from representing Bulgaria to New Zealand in June 2001.

If you really wanna count her then yeah, we'd forgotten her.
17 years since a kiwi made the SF's still though....

Well she married a New Zealander and played three main draw Grand Slam singles representing New Zealand, and is now Fed Cup Captain for NZ, so of course you count her! She's one of the best players ever to represent New Zealand even if it was only for 8 months or so, wouldve been longer had it not been for injuries, its just like we count Gajdosova, and Dokic now.

Don't get me wrong I do have alot of respect for Pavlina Nola, but just like 99.99% of the NZ Press we are calling it 17 years since a kiwi made the quarterfinal of a Wta singles event.

Saying that who cares - Shes in the semifinals

Im so looking forward to her match tomorrow!

Thank you for everything Mercedes, now please be nice to Socrates for me, perhaps fetch him a bird or two. We love you, always.

Aah well, we're over the QF trivia now. Did your Pavlina Nola reach a SF while playing for NZ? No....
