NZers in Overseas Challengers

Basically thieving the idea off the Aussies, because I've can actually seen a few Kiwis going international lately.

Paige Hourigan went to Antalya with Joanna Carswell, and both of them did fairly well, with Paige winning a doubles title there (w/Hartono) and making a singles QF beating 2nd seed Caroline Romeo on the way, plus another doubles QF and SF.

Carswell didn't quite have the success as Paige but made two singles QFs and a dubs SF.

Jade Lewis also seems to be focusing on Pros now, and has played a few 10Ks in Europe with some success.

Re: NZers in Overseas Challengers

Jade is playing in 10K Brussels this week and qualified:

QR2: (4) J.Lewis d. M.Triguax 6-0 6-0

QFR: (4) J.Lewis d. V.Remy 6-3 6-2

Also beat 4th seed in the open round

R1: (Q) J.Lewis d. (4) C.De Bernardi 6-4 7-5

Her opponent is seriously out of form, nearly broke top 250 last year, but went on a losing streak of 6 matches (now 7) after losing to Isabella Wallace, even getting bageled by her But still, good win. Plays another qualifier in R2.

In doubles with singles top seed Nicole Coopersmith, and they won their first round easily.

R1. Coopersmith/Lewis d. (WC) Demel/Glaude 6-2 6-1

Re: NZers in Overseas Challengers

Jade lost both her matches in Brusselss

R2: (Q) M.Peral d. (Q) J.Lewis 6-2 3-6 6-3

QF: (1) Kennel/Scholsen d. Coopersmith/Lewis 3-6 6-4 10-5

Had chances in both matches, missed a lot of bps/gps in the third set of singles and nearly brought the second set back from 1-5, but lost the plot at *4-5 40-15.

Jade is playing another Belgian 10K next week, Knokke, in the Q list

Re: NZers in Overseas Challengers

Sorry for not updating this - they all stopped playing again right after the thread opened and I've been busy. Jade won her match vs Nuudi, into the QF
