Re: irish tennis

I also think that Lynsey McCullough is a good player as well and I am sure she will play for Ireland with Emily in FED Cup in February next year

Re: irish tennis

Emily will be playing in qualifying for a Sweden tournament starting on 2nd January and then is 1 place off qualifying for another Sweden tournament the week after.

Emily is also playing a Tennis Ireland tournament starting on 27th December!

Good luck Emily!

Amy Bowtell is down to play in Australian Open Qualifying.

Re: irish tennis

thanks polly 4 the radio interview - it is a very good one. I would like to set up a chearing thread for Emily Madill but not sure if anyone else would follow her on this?

Emily is playing both tournaments now in Sweden in January and is also playing the Babolat National Indoor Championships in Dublin next week.

Anyway perhaps people can let me know if they would be interested in a separate Emily chat forum?

Re: irish tennis

Agreed Emily is a serious talent. I follow how she is doing, but can't see a thread just for her taking off yet. Give it a year and hopefully then its worthwhile

Btw I guess a lot of ppl who post here don't bother venturing into games thread...but theres an interesting one there now...an EU members competition.
Ireland needs votes!!
Kelly Liggan is v one of my faves Pennetta in round 1 , but i still voted for Kelly
Lets try get Kelly & the doubles girls thru, and get some Irish players names known at least

Vote Game: 2009 Union-European Championships | This Year in Madrid!

Cirstea Kirilenko Goerges Ivanovic Cibulkova Petkovic
Paszek - Vesnina - Minella - Gajdosova - Robson - Pennetta

Re: irish tennis

Amy Bowtell has withdrawn today from two Australian tournaments (including Aussie Open) but is playing some European one's in January, which I think is good as she was only on qualifying for the Australian tournaments.

Emily - I hope she plays more ITF tournaments (she is in qualifying for 2 in Sweden over next 2 weeks) and is playing in girls and women's draw at Ireland tournament starting tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to fellow Irish tennis fans!

Re: irish tennis

Does Ireland have a 10K? Are they planning on having one? That would be a great way for their players to develop

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.
Grammatikopoulou ~ Papamichail ~ Sakkari
I'm obsessed with the Greek players. Deal with it.
