Re: irish tennis

Yeah as far as I know he is looking for Irish citizenship, it would be great to get someone like him representing Ireland.

Re: irish tennis

Hopefully Lynsey can put in a good week, at least she starts with a win.

I'd like to see Colin O'Brien win the mens, even if he did beat me 6-4 6-1 when we played this year He's a very nice guy and it was fun to play against a world ranked player in a competitive tournament.

Re: irish tennis

Lynsey through to the QFs

Levova [1] def. Lloyd 6-1 6-0
Madill def. D'Arcy 6-0 6-1
Bowtell def. Gibney 6-1 6-1
Claffey def. Kennedy 6-2 6-0
Lombard def. Kinsella 6-1 6-1
Murtagh def. O'Flynn 6-4 6-1
McCullough def. O'Hanlon 6-4 6-1
Coveney v Lohan

A pity the score for Coveney-Lohan isn't up, would like to see how well Sinead would do against the 2nd seed. Good scoreline for Levova and Bowtell, though there was one tight match in the round

Would like to see Barry King win the mens or McGee. Morrissey lost 4 & 2 to this Georgian Kukhalashvili But at the same time would be good for Ireland if Kukhalashvili gains citizenship, another player for the future

Jelena Jankovic | Jelena Dokic | Conny Perrin | Kelly Liggan | Vita Diatchenko | Irini Georgatou
Domachowska | Bacsinszky | Cirstea | Halep | Chala | Baltacha | Antoniychuk | Naydenova

Beth Mattek-Sands Georgie Stoop

Yes hopefully it would, it would be terrible if she couldn't play Fed Cup next year again! There's not many other players that could replace her.

Men's Final is McGee v O'Brien, it's a pity McGee beat Barry King, but hopefully he goes on to take the title tomorrow. Also I wonder why Sam Barry is playing this week, maybe is just resting before going to Australia

And hopefully practising hard! It would be great to see an Irish junior qualify for the Aussie Open! But John Morrissey is on the entry lists for Aus as well and he played here.

Womens Final
Bowtell/Levova def. Claffey/Murtagh 6-2 6-4 [Seems like a good doubles team for the future ]

Jelena Jankovic | Jelena Dokic | Conny Perrin | Kelly Liggan | Vita Diatchenko | Irini Georgatou

Re: irish tennis

just read in todays irish independent that it will be the first time ever that we will have two irish juniors competing in the junior australian open, thats sam barry aand john morrissey, it would be great if one of them could qualify.

i was wondering their recently with the sinead lohan's success, who do you think has more potntial, amy bowtell or sinead lohan? I have a feeling it might be Sinead, but i am not sure.
