GMT Rules

General Information

Graphics Maker Tour (GMT) is a fun, friendly game in which Graphics Makers of any ability can compete.

Commitment is tournament by tournament rather than on a seasonal basis. - To commit just post ‘in’ in the tournament thread.
In case you withdraw from an event, you are not allowed to re-enter the event in question.

You will then have to make graphics to fit tasks, by a certain deadline.

After completing your graphics you should send to the tournament manager via PM or MSN.

Once the match starts posters will vote on which graphic they prefer:
• 1 vote = 1 game
• 6 games/set (4 for qualifying)
• Best of 3 sets (apart from finals)

The winner will advance to the next round.

Voter Rules

Anybody can with 100 or more posts on TF can vote, except if you are participating in that match.

You MAY NOT ask people to vote in a match unless you are a board member

If board members wish to PM in order to ask people to vote they have to use this template: http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=14514445&postcount=8

Vote on which graphic you like best, rather than for a friend – this is not a popularity contest.

Matches will be posted as shown above. To vote for Graphic A post: Match X – G1
And Match X – G2 for Graphic B

You may vote only once per set.

When you vote, you MUST vote for all matches in progress or your vote will not be counted

To prevent any bias voting, Tournament Runners may not vote.

You cannot edit your vote once cast; any edited posts will be discounted.

You MAY ask people to vote in a match, but not tell them which graphic to vote for. If you wish to PM use this template: http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=14514445&postcount=8

The tournament manager is allowed to vote, but not in a set/match-deciding vote

Apparently you can't ask people to vote anymore.. Is that true?

Player Rules

Please ensure you know and follow the rules before you commit. And follow the requests of board members.

When you send your graphics you must send them ALL at once. Players must send all sets at once. Anything less will be an automatic W/O.

Once you have sent your graphics, they are final and you are not allowed to change them.

You are NOT allowed to ask other people for their opinion on your graphics before you hand them in or before your match is over. (this excludes showing them to your doubles partner for the doubles matches)

Graphics sent after the deadline will be given a 3 game deficit in each set – providing the round is still in progress.

Extension Rules:

1. In case you need an extension, PM the tournament manager, one board member, and your opponent, informing them that you need an extension. Your opponent must agree that you can use an extension.
2. You must inform the manager at least 24 hours before the deadline to apply for an extension. However, you will only be given 24 hours from the deadline to send your graphics.
3. If your opponent agrees to give you an extension, you will only get a 0-2 penalty for every set. However, if your opponent does not agree, you will receive a 0-3 penalty for very set.
4. If you do not send within 24 hours from the deadline, you will receive a 0-3 deadline.
5. If you apply for an extension, but end up sending within the deadline, you will still receive a penalty of 0-2.

Failure to send, will result in disqualification

All makers must have a hosting site. We recommend: www.tinypic.com. Or any site which does not reveal the maker’s name

Any graphic that does not meet the task requirements (i.e. topic or size) will be discounted.

A player must not reveal which graphic is his or hers or ask anyone to vote for his or her graphic or post anything which may hint to it.

If a player has any complaints (i.e. voting irregularities, graphics that should be discounted) in any match, he/she should inform the tournament manager or a board member by PM. In case the complaint is about the manager please contact the board (ArturoAce., Enia, Reetard or Stadia)

Any rude/discourteous behaviour will result in barring from the game.

You may not vote in a match that you are participating in.

Re: -GMT Rules-

Just wanted to remind you all of these rules because of the recent events in GMT. If the first one of the rules posted under isn't followed, I will ignore all complaints posted in tournament threads ;)

Player Rules

If a player has any complaints (i.e. voting irregularities, graphics that should be discounted) in any match, he/she should inform the tournament manager or a board member by PM. In case the complaint is about the manager please contact the board (Gigi. or Poiree)

Any rude/discourteous behaviour will result in barring from the game.

Re: -GMT Rules-

Board and Tournament Manager Rules

Sign up to run a tournament in this thread http://tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=397447

You can only reserve 1 tournament. If you want, you can reserve other tournaments, but you will be an alt for those and a person who isn't running any other tournament next year will get the first preferance

First-timers can only manage Doubles and Exhibition tournaments

The tournament manager must open the thread at least 2 weeks before the start date – to give people time to commit.

Though posting style varies you must reserve space for the following:

• Tournament banner, past champions and additional tournament info
• Entry lists (singles/doubles/qualifying)
• Draws (must be updated after every round with the scores)
• Current Tasks
• Graphics of the round*

* This is the tournament runner’s personal choice

Tasks:

- must be posted at least 48 hours before the deadline*
- must be relevant on the tournament
- must be clearly set in English

* Must be posted in terms of GMT (Greenwich Meridian Time) with following link - http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

1st Set - 144x168 - avatar
2nd Set - Banner (max. 250px in height)
3rd Set - Free graphic

For singles finals tasks, this will be the format:
Avatar |Banner |Picture Reconstruction |Wallpaper |Practical Task

The Practical Task is a new task where the tournament manager can set any task with graphics with practical use. This can go on from designing a logo, a new website layout, book covers and albums, etc.
This task can be or not be related to the tournament.

For doubles finals tasks, this will be the new format:
100x100 |144x168 |Banner |Picture Reconstruction |Free

Each player from one team should make three graphics: one from the two avatar-sized graphics (100x100|144x168) one from the larger-sized graphics (Banner|Picture Reconstruction) and another one for the free. The last set will be played like a normal doubles last set is played (up to 10, must lead by two).

General:

No more than 2 singles and 2 doubles matches are to be run at a time.

The participants in each match should remain secret until the match is over.

Scores should be updated on every page, either by the manager or a board member.

Scores must be updated in a new post rather than editing an existing one

It is the job of the tournament manager to ensure players and voters are following the rules of the game and should report concerns to the board.

Failure to comply with aforementioned rules may result in replacement of the manager.

GMT Announcement (Rule addition)

Due to recent misunderstandings & conflicts in GMT, the board has decided to introduce warnings and infractions.

An infraction is a warning that lasts for 30 days. In case the infracted player still has a conflict during those 30 days, it will automatically turn into a warning (see below).

A warning is permanent. Once a player gets it, it can never be removed. 2 warnings result in a temporary ban from all GMT tournaments. Third warning would result in a permanent ban.

The board keeps all responsibilites to decide the seriousness of the case and give away infractions & warnings as needed.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
