away but we should get thru

wonder where they will play, i guess as far south and east as they can. Maybe Hainan island

I was there in 2000 and its very strict and security is very tight you could say.

Could take place in Guang Zhou, like the last Asia Fed Cup event.

I'll be interested to see how Chinese players behave against top 20 opponents. Li Na in particular. And how the Chinese doubles team does (certainly Jie / Zi).

Easy for Czechs, Slovenia,USA & Colombia (sorry danker, but Japan on colombian red clay against Zuluaga & Castaño won't do much damage).

Australia, Russia & Switzerland shouldn't have many problems but they have to play with their better players if they don't want to suffer.

But the real thrill of the qualifying round will be Hungary - Argentina in Budapest. I expect a very close tie with these two real claycourt teams.

Japan has the play Colombia away.
It it were on hardcourt, it'd be a different story.

Very very tough, especially since Ai is most likely not playing as usual.

They should definitely use Rika Fujiwara as one of the singles players.

I would expect the US will not be playing on clay. Probably on a hard court.

Hungary has a tough call. Do they go with their best surface, clay, which is also Argentina's best? Or do they go with a surface they're not as good on, hoping it will be worse for the Argentines?

nice draw for the Canadian team really, especially considering the team the Czechs used last tie. If they have Daja, Denisa, Kveta, and another of their higher ranked players they should get through, but even at that, they can all be inconsistent so who knows.

Randy ....... I guess if the Czechs used Barbora Strycova, Petra Cetkovska and Eva Birnerova they would proably win.

plus this will be on clay in Prostejov the most likely venue.

Thank GOD we do not have to go to Israel as we would probably withdraw with all the turmoil over there.

We will probably play in the west.....Arizona, California, Oregon, or Nevada somewhere. Because Bank of the West will be right after this and Venus will be playing too.

Or, they might put it in the southeast to be convinent for the American players.

Either way....we better win or that would be extremely embarassing. The losers go to relegation rounds....like vs. the Bahamas and Puerto Rico?

My GOD, could you imagine? Has the USA ever done that before?
