What about the Belgian Fed Cup team?

Who will play?

I hope Kim and Justine

I hope it is Kim, Justine, Els and Elke.

I'd love to see Elke get a shot even if she doesn't get to play it's be a great experience

I thought Kim had decided not to play due to a combination of sceduling and her injury. Can anyone confirm that?

So it'll probably be Justine for singles, Els for doubles, and probably either Els for singles also or Elke Clijsters or Kirsten.

Kim's decision will depend on her injury. She said she maybe plays

There was a lot of doubt whether Justine would play, but she has said today that she will

I hope Kim can play too, it depends on her injury.

Els in doubles and then probably Elke as a fourth player.

It seems official now that Kim won't play. It's on Belgian Teletext and also in an article I found (for the Belgians http://www.skynet.be/page.html?vorta...&art_id=133996)

I think the final team for the fed cup against Australia will be

Singles: Justine Hénin & Els Callens
Doubles: Els Callens & Laurence Courtois
Reserve: Elke Clijsters

Laurence said she still wants to play the fed cup!

I think and hope the belgian team will be
Singles Justine and Els
Doubles I'd like to see a team of Els and Justine I think that they's be stronger (I can see Els and Laurence losing to Aus if Rennae Stubbs gets picked, which is now possible as Aus have a new captain)
AND I'd like Elke to be picked and say if Belgium are 3-1 up goiing inot the final singles I'd like her to get to play the final singles match.

My prediction for Aussie team is

Alicia Molik and Nicole Pratt singles
Rennae Stubbs Doubles with either Alicia or Rachel McQuillan

So overall prediction for the winner

Justine vs Alicia because it is on clay Justine in two sets

Els vs Nicole tough match but i have to go with Nicole but the home crowd could get Els over the line

SO after day one 1-1

Doubles

Els and Justine vs Rennae and either Alicia or Rachel

Pivotal match could end up deciding winner of the tie If Justine is selected I'll go with Belgium in three because I don't think Rennae play that great with anyone but Lisa Raymond and she's american.

SO after day 2 I think (hope) Belgium to be 2-1 ahead

Day 3

Justine vs Nicole

Justine in straight she beat Nicole at Ao in straight and that was on rebound ace so clay gives Justine a even bigger advantage.

Elke vs Alicia

I think Alicia will win, but Elke could surprise I don't know how good she is on clay but I know alicia isn't that crash hot.

So overall I predict Belgium to win either 3-2 or 4-1 depending on the final singles.

Belgian team will be:
Justine Henin
Els Callens
Elke Clijsters
(Laurence Courtois??)

See Belgian Babes Band-forum for more information about Kim not playing, and Juju playing

I think Justine and Els will play singles. I think Els will play with Elke in doubles.

I thought that Kirsten Flipken (spelling?) was supposed to be more promising than Elke? I don't really follow Belgian junior tennis, but is there a possibility that she'd be picked as reserve?

Kirsten Flipkens is a big talent, but Elke is playing much better at the moment, AND she is a very good double player. I think that's the reason why she will be picked.

That makes sense. If Kim doesn't play, making Justine play both singles and doubles would be a big ask. They need to find Els a doubles partner...
