I don't get it.

Both Korea and Japan lost.

I don't understand why they're playing each other for a spot at the play-offs.

Shouldn't it be losers vs winners?

This certainly is strange...

I agree it does not seem very logical, but it is information currently available. I think that M-Web is mentioning some information about these play-offs. Could someone give a hint with some translation . Thanks in advance.

Indonesia Dan Cina Berebut Tiket Grup Dunia Piala Fed

(T.I015/B/A008) 8/03/:2 19:14

Refer to M-Web Sport. It said about determining 2 teams processed to World Group. Its not pool winner versus runner up, but based on seeding. 1st seed (INA) will face 4th seed (CHN), and 2nd seed (JPN) vs 3rd (KOR). This changes taken after technical meeting of 4 teams, and caused all semifinalist are seeded player. So, the matchs are INA vs CHN and JPN vs KOR.

****** Best of luck in 2007 ******
Angelique Widjaja, Sandy Gumulya, Romana Tedjakusuma & Lavinia Tananta.

I think so too Toto. China was unstoppable this year and I don't see any team who would have liked to meet them.

I would really like to find out more on how the decision to change the matches had been taken . I believe Indonesia would have had a chance against Japan.

The decision favoured Japan in the end at the expenses of Indonesia (I don't think Korea could have made it, no matter what).

Congrats to Japan and China.
Thanks for explaining Toto, but I still it's unfair that the "losing teams" from yesterday were awarded to play each other. I definitely think Indonesia should have played Japan today. But nothing can be changed now.

Bad luck to Korea and Indonesia.

The play-offs in July should be interesting...

The above site seems quite good for reports on Chinese tennis, and other sports. Still no pics however!
